Could be i guess, i forgot to say the guy worked for southwest cues. before 1993. stoped working for them and started making his own cues.

Jaythedr- Your cue is most likely a McWorter from Ventura California. Jerry McWorter worked for another cumaker for 3 months or so and then went on his own. Jerry made his first cue in 1989. Prior to 1994 his signature was under the wrap, after 1994 he added a trademark and a serial number. Send me a photo when you get a chance and we'll see if we can get more details about it! You can find more info in the Bluebook of Pool Cues!

The cue Tommy won the US Open with was a Southwest. I know this for a fact because I sold him the shaft he used to win it, if its the cue.

I'm pretty sure Kennedy won the US Open in 1992, not 1993. Earl Strickland won it in 1993.

Blackjack your so right, sorry. I find this on his web page.

Kennedy's greatest moment came in 1992, when he made pool history by being the only unranked player to ever win the U.S. Open. The title of U.S. Open Champion is the most coveted of any in the game of 9-ball. Tommy beat Johnny Archer (the #1 ranked player in the world at that time) in the final match by a score of 10-1, in what is considered to be one of the greatest upsets in pool history.
p.s. thanks for pointing that out. lol , so now i know its a 1992 cue "cool"

im from orlando, florida just started shooting pool again. use to shot at jimmy's on o.b.t. I used to know every player there was i cant even find the players now. if any are on these post please let me know where every one plays now thanks

True Story

On Tommys way to that US Open he stop in Pensacola FL and played little 50 entry tourny at Fireside Billiards...................He came in 3rd cause I knocked him out hill to hill I think. Then I ended up coming in 2nd.........to a guy named Julio! Then the next week Tommy wins the OPEN!!!!! ps....Tommy has had alot of great moments he use to come to Starcade every 6 moths for their tournaments..........always played great. Use to be some great matches between him and Archer.......and Scotty Towndsend. And other greats!

I have that match from the US Open on video. Tommy's smile just keeps getting bigger and bigger as he wins game after game. The crowd was behind him at the beginning, and they got more and more into it as the match went on.

And besides his ability on the table, he is one of the absolute nicest guys in the game today. Him and Tony Robles are in a class all by themselves.

Hey Mike my dad said he would dig out thos old snap mags tommorrow........if I remember right Tommy is one of the autographed ones. lol And like you said you will never met a nicer pool player EVER! .................................I have seen him get beat in a tounramnet and was smiling sayin how good the guy was shooting. He is happy winning or losing.......doesn't matter.

yeah i played tommy in tounramnets before 1992. and when i lost to him he would smile and say how good i did.lol smiling ear to ear. shaking my hand. you'll never meet anyone nice as him. once i won the winners bracket and tommy won the losers barcket. it was like my 3rd tounramnet i ever played and he broke and run to the 8 and i had all 7 balls to run, i hit the first three great then choked on the 4th. he just smiled at me and said i did good. i said to my self "yeah right" lmao. anywho i just started backing playing and it feels good.

p.s. i just played a guy on a 9 ball league he said his ranking was a 8 we raced to 5 for $$ and i won 5-2. oh yeah after not playing for 8 years,

That sounds like Pat Casey. His dad was a big wig with Mickey Mouse, or something like that. I was there at the end of March, but just visisted my family, and stayed out of Jimmy's. Saw my buddy "Gator" when I was there. BTW - Pat died in an automobile accident in 1998. He's probably up there talking smack, flashing his daddy's money, and hiding cards.

i know gator he played in all the Tournaments that i played at the time. yup you know all the players i knew. gator was with some guy all the time that owned a taxi i think. if not i bet you know the two guys im thinking about. a family friend i shoot with for years you know i bet his name is dennis maddox ?
