I have had this cue since 1999. The shaft was badly warped and I had Rick Phillippi make a new shaft for it. This cue has been test hit only. I am looking for $300 or best offor. It has been test hit only and weighs 19.3 oz. Comes with 1 x 1 case w/ JP's. First cue I bought for my wife.

so, have you test hit this cue any over the years?

free 40 min bump, that's how i'd look at it

Here is the story!

I bought this cue for my wife in 1999. The shaft was crooked and I couldn't have it replaced. In the bag it went. It also has a very nice leather wrap. Last year I had Phillippi make me a new shaft for it along with some other work. I screwed it together and hit 10 balls with it. Back in the bag it went. Now it is for sale, 100% guaranteed satisfaction, with a case and JP's. Yes, I am taking a loss on it. That my friend be the truth and the whole truth.

Your cue is an M8-PS11 and current value is around $400.
Thought I'd add one in here in case someone is looking for an older McD.
A new (or should I say unused) McD RS11 from 1998 - still has the original sticker on it and has been stored in a case.

I realize that Don does not sell here very often, but I can tell you that this is one of THE most straight-up, big-hearted people I know here!! Don is one of those who will never crap on ya, and is a man of his word.

Since you are relatively new to AZ....I can tell you, he is, without a doubt, one of the most valuable and respected members here. To tell you all he has contributed would require it's own thread. :)

I will vouch for him and his honesty absolutely 100%!! :D

Best of luck with your sale, Don!! Take care! :D

i was only being an ass about his repetition, sorry purd.

I have to definately have to agree with what Lisa has said. Don is 1 of the most honest and 1 of the most respected people I know personally. He is the type of person that will help out anybody in a bind. Whether he knows you or not. And i have the UTMOST respect for the Purdman and consider him a very personal friend. By the way. beautiful cue you have there Don........................mike

The cue is a JL 03, the Jenette Lee model without the signature. It was produced just after they discontinued their sponsorship. That is what McDermott told me. Now if you can show me otherwise, I will stand corrected. Thanks for the input.
Peace, Purdman
It is in perfect condition and if it is worth $400 I just might keep it. Do you know what the origional price was? I purchased it with five other cues.

Thanks Mike and Lisa

I wasn't offended by his question. It is very hard to get me rattled these days. I may be unemployed but I saved enough money to stay that way for quite a while.:D I have about $500 wrapped up in the cue with the new shaft, case and joint protectors. I believe $300 is a very good asking price. I had an offer of $250 and would just assume keep it. I also believe it would make a very nice cue for somebody's wife or girlfriend. That's why I put it up. Thanks for your support!:D It is much appreciated.

She had 3 signature cues. We gave away a JL03 when she and George were in our shop for an event in the late 90's.
Yours looked to me like the M811 but with a darker stain - http://www.mcdermottcue.com/images/TimeCapsule/M8/M811.jpg

If I recall correctly the retail on the JL03 was around $390.
In looking thru McD's retired cues I think the M8P7 http://www.mcdermottcue.com/images/TimeCapsule/M8/M8P7.jpg
and M8P8 http://www.mcdermottcue.com/images/TimeCapsule/M8/M8P8.jpg were the other 2 Lee signature cues.

BTW - here's a pic of the RS11 if anyone is interested.

Thank you Dartman, I do appreciate the info. I still don't know if you are telling me this is not a JL 03 though. Your response is hard to decipher.

My take is that if the cue had the JL signature then it would be the JL03. Without the signature it would more then likely have to be called something else. When I looked at the pic you posted it appeared to be an M8PS11 but with a darker stain. I'm presuming McDermott changed the model# of the JL03 after Jeanettes contract expired.

Compare this pic link for the M8PS11 (http://www.mcdermottcue.com/images/TimeCapsule/M8/M811.jpg) with your cue and you'll see that it is the same cue you posted except for the stain color and wrap.

Either way it's a nice cue and would probably be worth more if it was the actual signature model. If you're not in a hurry to sell it you might consider listing it with McDermott because I think you could get more than $300 for it.

Thank you for clairfying that for me. I looked at the links you posted before and I agree it is the same cue. I will take your advice. Thanks again.

No worries Purd - just trying to help.
Now if you can catch Jeanette and get her to sign the cue I guess it could be a JL04 and probably be one of a kind.

As an aside - when she was at our store doing an exhibition (long ago) we had a guy that offered to buy the table she was using provided she would autograph it. Easy sale and certainly a conversation piece for the buyer. Table pic - http://www.bullseye1.com/rjlee.jpg
