Well it seems that i have received my 1st bad rep points... . Yeah.....:D ...It seems that... dukeboy1977.. did not like my giving him bad rep points for his post about Bob Owen and Shurtz Cues. Next he will probably be banning me from the site he moderates on.....Well dukeboy1977, you have made my day. I have been wondering how long it would be before someone gave them to me....YEAH.... .....lol.........:D .........mike

Don't feel bad. I got my first and only bad rep from Mr. Wilson of all people for starting a thread asking why he deleted another thread I started. He didn't like the subject of that thread, nor what I wrote on the insidepool forum. Oh well, its his right. I didn't give him one back. I try not to take this too seriously.

Top left corner.

Thanks, and I do that, but what does a bad rep look like? Is it blue rather than green? Or does blue mean something else?

And you can click on 'good rep' and it then gives you a choice for 'approve' or 'disapprove.' What happens when you choose 'disapprove?"

Jeff, green is positive...red is negative. 'Disapprove' means you are giving a negative rep point.

You know if you never get any bad rep that means you get along way to well with others and you probably always agree with others and you probably voice your opinion(if you do) too nicely and you never get mad and take your ball from the play ground and go home and you probably share with others............ So as far as rep is concerned, is that good or bad?

Red? What about blue? Or is it gray?...my eyes are shot.

And what if you click on 'Bad' instead of 'Good' just below the post. I've tried that and it ask me to contact Mr. Wilson or some such advice. I didn't want to ratout the guy, just give him a "Bad" rep.

I appreciate the comments I get with the reps, but when I get those blue ones, no one seems to comment about my post so I'm not sure what they mean.

I don't know what they all mean exactly. I know its not a big deal. When I get greenies, its cus someone agrees with me or appreciates what I posted. When I get reds (I got one once as an accident) I assume its because of the opposite. All in all, this forum is IMHO the best source for pool knowledge ont he net. I'm previleged and lucky to be apart of it.

Some say if you get reds its just becaue you outright disagree with someone, which I don't think is true. I think reds are a byproduct of someone's inability to have a civilized, adult discussion with other people without name-calling, or slandering. But thats not always the case. Sometimes people just get em. And reds carry about as much weight as someone's negative opinion in real life.

For a person to give rep points good or bad that person must have received a certain number (100?) of rep points. Until they have received that number their attempt to give rep will be shown as a grey/blue box and if they failed to comment on their attempt to give rep there is no way of knowing their intentions of good or bad.

Hope this helps.

Steve
