The Mayor will be in attendance

Guys! I have talked to Chris and I will be running the event for him and possibly playing.

So if someone wants a easy draw in the first round, you better sign up soon.

This should be a great event.

Hope to see some of my State Tournament (Big Table) regulars at this event as well.

I will be sending out an email from my website soon.

I would like to say and I am sure Chris will agree that this event would not be possible without the help and support of Jeff Smith from the Virginia Billiards Association (http://www.vabilliards.com/). Jeff normally runs both the State 8 & 9 Ball Bar Table Championship in VA Beach. I brokered a deal between the Virginia Billiards Association and The Clubhouse to have 2 great events in 2 different parts of the state. This year, The Clubhouse will be hosting the VA State 9 Ball Bar Table Championship in Lynchburg and the Virginia Billiards Association will be hosting the VA State 8 Ball Bar Table Championship in VA Beach. Next year, the events will switch locations in the state. I encourage to be on the look out for information about the VA State 8 Ball Bar Table Championship when Jeff puts out the information. When I hear about it, I will let folks know as well.

Hope to see you guys out there on April 14-15!

i no its far fetched but any chance you will allow some players from west virginia we dont have state tourneys like these ....

I agree with this sentiment. All of the MD Open Series allowed anyone to play.
Locking it down to VA residents only does not sit well with me.

I know you guys probably don't care...but I do not agree with forbidding players to participate in events.

The US Open is not limited to American players only...oh well.

Your state, your tourney, guess you guys can do what you want.

Sadly, I could not play in this event anyway as I have to work, but would have liked to have had the option as a Maryland resident. (and a supporter of the game)

State Event vs Open Event

When I started the VA State 9 Ball Championship I did it so that the talented players in Virginia would have an event to showcase their talent.

If I ever decided to do an "Open" event; everyone is invited.

Chris and I talked about this and he felt like I do about having an event for VA and DC residents.

The only reason I include DC in my event is because DC is not included in anything.

I hear your cries O' Maryland and West Virginia players.

Maybe someday we will make something happen.

The mind is cranking.

No worries, thanks for the consideration.

Luckily, Ozzy Reynolds' "The Action Pool Tour" is open to all, as is The Planet Pool Tour run by Mike Ricciardella and Jose Burgos.

Good luck with your event.

This brings up a very good point. Please consider all the events around here when scheduling for next year. I would like to be able to play in this however the APT is scheduled that weekend. I also believe there was a GSBT event/or bigger monthly event at the Clubhouse a few months ago when another APT event was held--I think in Richmond that same weekend.

I will make it to Lynchburg at some point!

Update for this weekend

Guys. This tournament is shaping up to be a good one. Chris has informed me that his phone has been blowing up with folks saying they are coming.

If you are interested in playing, make every effort to get signed up before Friday.

As far as other events going on at the same time, that is the nature of events.

I spoke with Oz before I set this date and we both felt that we were far enough away from each other to not take players from each other, due to proximity.

I hope to see everyone there in Lynchburg this weekend.
