2 questions regarding Talisman cases.

shavedaccord

I'll spot you 7 balls
First question is regarding purchasing a new one. I noticed on the Talisman website that they come with some extra stuff like tips etc.. I even noticed some people on here received a dust bag for them as well. Now do you get all of this long as you buy them new and from an authorized retailer online? Or must you buy them from the Talisman website in order to get the extras?

Second question is Instroke or Talisman? I have roughly $90 of in-store credit at Seybert's and I have been considering a Talisman since I can use that in-store credit towards them. However I cannot use it towards any Instroke product. So the question is should I just buy the Talisman or suck it up and purchase an Instroke?

case at hand

flip a coin and call tails-thats what fatboy(eric would do)-both are great.it's still money in the bank. heads talisman-tails instroke mark

I believe fellow-azer SKOR had several problems with his Talisman like rattling cues inside. Try to PM him for more info

If you ask me, I'd go for Instroke for proven track record:smile:

I talked to him on Seyberts forum. He didn't mention cues rattling, but he did say they had fixed the problem with clasps not being able to hold the weight.

Hi shave,

I am a new owner of a great! Talisman original black/green case. I have also held many other brand name and custom cases like Instroke and justis.

IMHO the Talisman is at least as good or better for looks, quality workmanship and over all toughness.

I have a URL to a thread I started a few day's ago if you would like to see what a Talisman looks like up close.

Where did you purchase it from? Still curious as to if it actually comes with the extras if you buy it from an authorized online retailer or you have to purchase directly from Talisman's website?

Sorry my good man, I forgot to answer your original question.

I believe the extras are available where ever you purchase the case but keep in mind that to my knowledge there is not many retailers of Tony's cases.

I purchased my Case directly from the website and got everything. Box of 9 Talisman WB medium tips, Golf shirt and hand towel. Now I know he has a shipping location somewhere in the States but my case came directly from Thailand to my door here in small town Northern Ontario in less than a week. I woulld imagine it did not ship from the US location as they did not have my particular case in stock over here?

Any way, I have spoke to Tony directly on several occasions and I am sure if you email him he will let you know if you can get the extras buying off of the site. Tony is an incredibly nice fella!!!

I hope this helps my friend, if you need anything else just let me know.

Well the reason I ask is like I stated in my first post, I have roughly $90 of in-store credit at Seyberts Billiards and they carry the Talisman cases. I'm assuming I can contact him with info from his website or is their another quicker contact?

Contact Tony directly from his website.

They are several time zones a head of us but he had no problem replying to me in less than 12 hours.

As i said above, he is a great guy and good businessman.

Take care.

Paul

Edit: Total cost of case was 370 US, everything included!!! Great price and slightly cheaper than Instroke.

Thank you. Really appreciate your honest and fast responses, especially since I am a new comer here.

Anytime, glad I could help.

I have been helped by so many on this forum it's nice when I can return the favour.

Take care and enjoy whatever new case you decide on.

Talisman case

I had a Talisman years ago. I got mine before the whole tip/shirt/lap dance thing, even before the Tribal series came out. It did come with the dust cover though.

As far as the case is concerned, it was nothing but top quality. I really liked the case (2x4), except for the fact it was so big. It was as big as an Instroke 3x5. f you can get past the size, man it was a great freakin case! I kinda regret selling it.

HTH.

don't do it man. i hear those cases have too little padding in the tubes. for that price just go ahead and get an instroke

Yes, contact Tony on his website. He provides great care for his customers, unlike any other I've seen!

I own a 3x5 Talisman Tribal case and I really like it. Only drawback is that it is a big large and heavy. I've never owned an Instroke so I dont' know how it compares.

The only kind of rattling problem I had, was that there was extra room at the top, so they would slide up every once in awhile if the case was horizontal. I fixed that by putting a small towel above my cues, which is great because then I always have a clean towel handy as well as stabilizing the cues. Currently I'm using a MN Wild playoff towel :)

I had a Talisman case and really didn't care for it at all.

Ill fitting lid
way too large holes
no pocket space

I have no idea what the quality of the cases were years ago but my pictures speak for themselves. The cases Tony sells now are tough and I could kick mine around with no worries.

Instroke, good case but I don't like the looks of tooling. I actually prefer the heavy duty stiching look on the Talisman's but I think your safe with either case.

Cheers.

Paul

I was actually thinking about doing some custom tooling on it either myself or have an uncle do it who builds custom saddles once I recieve the case.

Great idea!

Just a note, as another member mentioned in a above reply I also put one
of my hand towels in the top of the lid cause there is lot's of room and the cues don't move around, not even a mm.

Cheers.
