It's interesting... 15 years or so ago, I took one look at those RC3 cues with the single-sided veneers and thought "That is horrible".

15 years later, I love them. I think they're incredible. And this one is a great example as the forearm wood is REALLY intriguing. Rick makes some truly beautiful, artistic designs. Congrats!
 
I like the one sided veneers also. I wish everyone did as they are much easier to build.
