2 Runde's a McDermott and a sneeky Pete.

Hello all,
Thanks for looking at this. My father was a serious pool player and he passed away about 11 years ago now. He left behind 4 cues and now my mother after much debate has decided to try and sell his cues. They were purchased from Billiards and Bagels in Gresham Oregon. What I would like to know is an approximate value on the cues. They are not in my possession at the moment but will be shipped to me in about 3 weeks. This is just a preliminary/information request. I will post pictures as soon as I receive them. I had my sister take them to a pool hall in Richmond, Va. but she felt the shop owner was trying to take advantage of her by making a ridiculous offer of $350.00 each. He did tell her though that they were in incredibly excellent condition and had been taken well care of. They have been stored in their cases for the last 10 years and not played. None of the cues are warped at all according to the pool hall owner. There may be additional shafts to some of them.
What my father had: (mom has) lol
Runde 94-8
Runde 95-13
McDermott C-21
Huebler Sneaky Pete.
Any info or interest would be greatly appreciated and I will post Hi-Def pics as soon as I get them in.
Thank you all so much. I just joined tonight and I have enjoyed reading all the posts.
Cheers

The huebler 100-200 depending on how bad somebody wants it
350 for the McDermott is probably fair depending on condition. If it's pristine, more of course.
The Rundes are probably in the 1500-2000+ each depending on complexity and condition. If they are in excellent condition and fancy, they could go as high as 3000-4000.
Without pics nobody will be able to give anything other than very rough guesses based on what you have said.
Hope this helps
Chuck

Chuck,
Thanks for your reply. I will post pics right away when I get them. I understand that no one can give an accurate idea without the pics. I know my father was very proud of them and took very good care of them. I appreciate your help. I just wanted to give my mother some idea of value. Your response was helpful and I will make sure and pass the information along and post pics soon.
What is the market like for selling them? Also, any suggestions on how to protect them during shipping?
Thanks in advance

I am not a Runde expert, but here you'll find many. Also Huebler cues have their fans around here.
As for the McDermott C-21, if the condition is perfect, this means straight and sound, the true value will be probably around 1300$, more or less...tho the mcdermott site has them posted for 1850$. Look in the retired section.
The B and C series were and still are one of the best production cues made by mcDermott. I wish i had the cash to make you an offer for such a nice cue.
I hope you'll get enough opinions. Good luck with your sale. Nice cues you have there.
Chris

PS: the value is what you want to ask for them as all are retired cues and the real value depends on many things

C-21 just sold on eBay for $450

Pre-02 Rundes go for less than post due to round points.
Runde starting making his own cues in 93, IIRC. Being Runde owner, I'd love my cue to bring 1.5-2k, but the market says otherwise.

Thank you Christian, I appreciate that. Are you from Romania? I was there last year for 6 weeks. My girlfriend is Romanian and I plan to visit the again soon. I wish I could the cues sooner and post some pics, maybe I can post a text picture if they come thru good enough.

You can get near monster Runde cues on this site currently for 1000 and sometimes less. It would have to be a pretty big cue to command 1500-4000. I still cant explain why but...

The Huebler is probably 75-150 depending...

The Mcdermott is probably 700 depending...

If anyone is buying Rundes for $4000 or a C-21 for $1300 please send them my way when your done. I have a few cues for sale.

These are a few text pics my sister sent for the Runde 95-13. If she has a Hi-Def cam I will get her to email me the others. These aren't the greatest but hope it helps some.
Thanks to all !

Please provide the link to the C-21 that sold for 450. Was it mis-listed?

Hello my name is lenny I seen your runde and I am instead in in the cue u have taken a pic of. The 95-13. What are you asking for that cue?:thumbup:

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I lost my dad about 20 years ago now. I still miss him.

I will look forward to seeing some better quality pictures of the Runde cues. I do not claim to be an expert on cue values, but would say there are many factors (how rare it is, overall condition, number of inlays, what are the inlays made of). I have not been an active AZ Billiards member for that long either, but so far people have been pretty cool to me. I would think that one would fetch about $1,000.00, but the market is down right now due to the weak U.S. economy. dtrocks

Runde Cue Pictures

Hello,

Do you still have the two Runde Cues for sale? I am looking forward to the pictures.
