Anyone here knows who gives 2 shafts with their plane jane cues? The only ones I know of right now are Chad Carter and Coker cues. Also, this is in the price range of $450 and below. Just curious is all. Thanks.

I would think any cue maker could make you 2 shafts if you wanted them. I know Jacoby will. If you are ordering it as opposed to buying it off the "shelf" I can't imagine it would be a problem.

Viattorre, well within that range.
Possibly Jack Madden but I'm not sure if he may be a little outside that price.
Andy Gilbert I think but not positive.

Most custom cue makers do not advertise a second shaft with a plain jane simply because most of their customers for plain cues are looking
for their cheapest model and having only one shaft keeps the cost down.

Of course any cue maker can supply you with 2 or more shafts as you wish as long as you are happy to pay for them. Cues that use Uni-Loc pins (Radial or Quick Release) are usually promoted as having interchangeable shafts due to the high accuracy of the joint, so additional shafts can be supplied at a later date without having to be turned and fitted manually to the butt. You could also buy an off-the-shelf shaft like a Predator with the right joint thread as a second shaft.

However you may want to consider if you will ever use that second shaft. I wanted exactly the same as you when I got my first "real" cue, a fairly plain Dale Perry. I've had the cue for nearly 3 years and never used the second shaft in anger once. I know a really good local semi-pro player who has a single shaft he had repaired after snapping it at the joint rather than have to get used to a new shaft.

I dont know many cuemakers that will in that price range. Most cuemakers plains janes start anywhere from 350 to 450 for a plain jane and one shaft and an additional shaft anywhere from 125 to 250 depending on whether or not you want something laminated. My Omen plain jane was about 500 with two shafts and moori's. It would have cost more but he cut me a deal because I ordered a break/jump from him at the same time.

Man I need to work on my communication skills! :( What I am saying is that the cuemakers that I have mentioned GIVE you an extra shaft (with their plane janes mind you...)...AT NO EXTRA COST! I wanted to know who else did this other than the two I mentioned. Sorry for not being clear in my original question and thanks for the replies. :D

You are a madman! None, is your answer there!!

Nobody that sells things gives them away for free. It is bakcwsrad logic.

The price listed may be for 2 shafts, but the cost of the x-tra shaft is factored in...

jeez piglit decaf... :p (just kidding..) Ok, that's cool and all, but even if it's a factored in the price, the cuemakers I mentioned are still under that price range. :) So again, do you know who else does this...with the extra shaft factored in the price of course. :p:D;)

if you cant figure it in do this

Plain Jane 1 Shaft- 500 Bucks
Extra Shaft - 75-100 Bucls

There the cuemaker is making you the plane jane with 2 shafts for an unbelivable price of 575 not bad eh?

I myself am looking for a plain jane cue, cocobolo, with a nice wood for the wrap section what do you think would be a good wrap sectin wood with cocobolo?

You'd have to ask him - email is cuemaker@johnmaddencues.com

Ros & DD & those interested.

I build a plain jane - appx 19 oz - birdseye forearm, ebony butt, black & white irish linen, black delrin butt cap, custom joint protectors, ivor-X ferrule, some silver ring work, and WITH 2 pro taper shafts in the $ 450 range if you order the 2nd shaft when you order the cue. If you order the 2nd shaft after you have the cue then the price of the shaft will be $ 125.00 + shipping. If you want something more custom than the price would be increase accordingly. Hope this answers the question.
