Thank you.

Maybe Earl Strickland and Efren Reyes should apply, they might squeak in with their titles and credentials.

How can it be a World title if the field is limited. Shouldn't anyone that thinks they have a chance to win be able to enter

Ever seen a world championship where the field wasn't limited?

I figured Stevie Moore would be entered.

Mike, I second this. In fact, I'll try and call Stevie if Charlie wants to chime in and third this notion then I'm sure we can make it happen.

They are playing the tournament at Bankshots! Could you imagine how many days it would take to play this if 256 signed up! Oh and also a few other tournaments going on at the same time! Amateur, Junior & Senior
events I believe.

Are we going to see the list of titles for all the participants as well?

Is there a certain number or scope of "titles" required to play?

Why isn't Keith McCready already on the list?

Nothing against you Charlie but it's kind of a sad statement for pool that you have to advertise open spots on an internet forum.

Now what would be really COOL is if you would hold a wildcard spot open for an AZB member to play and raffle off the spot. Man or woman, whoever wins the raffle gets to mix it up with the pros.

Does Karen Corr play 10 ball?

Karen Corr is not allowed in UPA events - they are afraid of her.

The UPA is the self-titled "governing body of men's professional pool".

At the beginning they claimed to be for all pool players but that really meant only if you had testicles.

The UPA would allow any male, qualified or not, to play in their events but no female, no matter how gifted a player she is. Does it get any more sexist than that?

Oh yes, the excuse is that the women have their own tour where the men are not allowed to play. Well, the men pros aren't allowed to play in my local tournament series either but I am allowed to donate to them anytime I want to.

But anyway that's a whole 'nother aggravating topic.

Stevie Moore and Van Corteza have all been recently entered already.

Rich Orem,David Broxston,Will Bilbrey,Jon Hennessee ? Any of these guys have an invite?

Support

I think we should be more supportive of Charlie. Getting a truly international field to a tournament here in the US, without a lot of prize money (that is, without the support or help of other people), is a great achievement. The primary purpose is to promote our game. That's what we should all be doing. Let's help him instead of criticize. With regard to an open spot, I think it's natural that there might be a few openings. That's why when the tournament is held in the Phillipines, there's always lots of Filipinos, and similarly for when it's held in Taiwan or Wales.

Don't you think you kind of contradicted yourself by saying it's sad that this event has to advertise spots on this internet forum and then said it would be cool if this internet forum got a spot in the tournament?
