I've played Bert and I've watch Bert give a lesson and was impressed with some of the things I heard him say on the lesson. I just think that every Pool teacher's main shot is the straight in shot. Starting out by finding out how long they need to make the straight-in before you are not deadly accurate. Saying that this shot needs to be one of your main practice shots.
Bert's shot #1 is a straight-in shot placing the CB 2 diamonds from the foot rail, the OB 1 diamond away from the head rail, shooting the OB into the corner pocket, but "rolling" the CB to replace the OB entirely. In other words, it's a stop shot with one more roll of the CB to occupy the space of where the OB was.
