By the way, are you looking for a used/unpacked cue to buy from someone or do you want recommendations for a cue of up to 200$?
I am looking to buy a cue as well, but in a bigger price range. As for the up to 200$ price range I'd recommend any good cue manufacturer's cheaper lines.
But again, I am not sure if he should put in that much money if he is only just starting out... Is he a total beginner? If not, how good is he?
The first cue I got for starting out was an 80$ Fury cue that came with a free case and I had to pay a lot for shipping and stuff, so it is a really cheap cue and I still use. I mean I am going to buy a new one soon, but changing the tip to a Kamui really extended its life. I am a tournament player and it has really served me well. If he is just starting out, there's plenty of time to upgrade to something more serious.
Other cheap beginner cues you can consider are some of the Cuetec, Dufferin and maybe Action(Never tried them though).
