Hi all

I'm looking for a mate(3max) for a road trip to Chesapeake, VA for 2004 US Open 9 Ball Championships. It can be someone who wants to play, or someone who just want to watch. I'd like to share gas & hotel expenses. Hosting hotel is Holliday Inn - special $80 per night for the players, Days Inn $60 or Motel 6 $40 per night per room. All hotels are within one minute of walking distance from Chesapeake Conference Center, where the tournament will be! I have a perfect road trip car 15 years old Cadi(pic attached). I've been twice in Chesapeake, once in NYC, once in Toledo,OH, six times in Chicago, 3 times in Miami and more! I live in Little Rock, AR - about 1000 miles from the target. I'll be driving through the following cities and I can pick up to 3 people on my way there: LITTLE ROCK,AR/ MEMPHIS,TN/ NASHVILLE,TN/ KNOXVILLE,TN/ WYTHEVILLE,VA/ BLACKSBURG,VA/ LEXINGTON,VA/ CHARLOTTESVILLE,VA/ RICHMOND,VA/ WILLIAMSBURG,VA/ NORFOLK,VA/ CHESAPEAKE,VA. Hotel needs to be reserved 2 weeks with advance.

I've never made it to the Open. I always find a way to make it to Louisville,KY for the Derby. How do they compare?

Even though there is about half less players to US Open than to DCC, I founded US Open more intresting, because of many different players from all over the world and because of the dress code. They won't let you play "jeans & sport shoes". This is how a prestigous tournament should be done and I like it.
On the other hand DCC is very intresting, because all different games to be play. It would be much better if they'd added straight pool as well!

Motel 6...stay awayfrom

stay away from motel 6. it is a real dump/ i stayed there 1 year. the floor to the bathroom fell apart. Red roof inn across the street is much better. it is not the holiday inn. but what the heck. i only need a place to sleep at night. (late at night)............................................mike
 
Actually I use Motel6 all the time. Some of them are really nice like for example this one in Louisville and in Marietta,GA. Other are bad. In one of those crapy ones I almost broke my jar falling down durring a shower :eek:
 
Motel 6

I called Motel 6 to book some rooms and I'll be damn....they are goimg out of business at the end of August. So that one is out....
 
All MOTEL6 are going out of business?? Well there are couple hotels around Conference Center - Roof Inn and Days Inn for about $60.
 
Econo Lodge?

I'm staying at the Econo Lodge, which is a short distance from the Convention Center (I'm told, I don't know), and it is $56 a night. Anybody know anything about it? Just curious...

I've been so far in Holliday Inn - special for players $80, Days Inn $60 and Motel6 $40, but I saw in that area about 10 or more others, so there is a choise, only good thing would be to have a roommate.
 
I can vouch for him. He lives in the same town as I do and is trustworthy and a good guy. He would be a great traveling partner.

I would go with you but I have a Pro event Sept. 8 - 12, 2004 in Florida. Maybe if you don't go to U.S. Open you can come with me and we will try & find you a girlfriend (just jokin'). :p
