I wish all the best for Hazel Cook ( NewZealand) and I like to see her put a good show.I met her 5 years ago in Auckland, NZ when she was 16 year old and at that time her game was impressive.I hope her game has improved in the last 5 years. Another Kiwi playing in the world championships is Denise wilkinsen who is Hazel`s cousin. In that wilkinsen family there are 11 players altogether and they all go together to the tournaments in a van.
5 years ago Hazel`s uncle Mr.wilkinsen came to USA on invitation to play in BCA 9 ball in las vegas but did not do well.

I think Cook needs much luck in this group.

Group A
Ga-Young Kim (KOR) - Two time World Champion
Akio Ohtani (JPN) - One of the top Japanese players
Eylull Kibaroglu (TUR) - 2007 European Champion
Sabina Dederding (SUI)
Hazel Cook (NZL)

Jeniffer Chen and Meng-Meng Chou were both banned by their own Billiard Organization.

And why is that?

I bet 500 vcash on Kelly Fisher to take it down.

Might be a good bet. I spoke to Iris Ranola before her Semis match in the PNPC. I told her Allison Fisher was playing, she asked me if the "other" Fisher was playing. Guess she meant her.

I too hope Hazel does really well. I met her and the rest of the New Zealanders at Vnea Jr nationals. A nice bunch of people.

Yes, I saw Denise Wilkinson last year in Taiwan. She was really young, play real fast, and pot everything from everywhere.
After her match, they interviewed her, she kept giggling in front of the camera. She must be having a great time, playing in front of TV and all that may be for the first time.

For my personal pick, I think it is really tough.
Kelly, Allison, Xiao Ting, Ga Young, Shin Mei, Yuan Chun ..etc

I will go with Pan Xiao Ting, just because I want to see someone winning two major in a row.

Karen Corr is not there? How sad. The best player in women's pool is not even at the tournament. Does anyone know why?

Best Bets

Jasmin Ouschan and Ga Yung Kim
2 of my favorites anyway

Jeniffer Chen was banned one year because of her gamble news;
Meng-Meng Chou was because of her some disgraceful news during the Asian Game.

Allow me to introduce some taiwanese women players to you.

Taiwan top 3 - Chang Shu-Han , Lin Yuan-Chun (1984) and Liu Shin-Mei (1969).

Lin Yuan-Chun is 2006 asian queen. First, she was 2006 all japan open winner - eliminated Kim Ga-Young, Lui Shin-Mei, and then beat Jasmin Ouschan in the final match (Pan was knocked out by another taiwanese player Chou Chieh-Yu); she was also 2006 asian game 8-ball winner - defeated Pan Xiao-Ting in the semifinal, and then defeated Kim Ga-Young in the final match.

Chang Shu-Han (1983.11.24)

Lin Yuan-Chun (1984.10.05)

I would love to see a match between Jasmin and Xiao Ting, they are both top notch players, yet process very different style.

Thank you for the updates, really appreciate it.

Regards,
Richard

Thank you for the introduction. I agree that Lin actually has a very big chance in winning this tournament.

She has kept a low profile on the international stage, but among all the top players, she is always a very feared and respected opponent.

Would you mind to tell me what kind of cue is she playing with?

Thank you.

Richard
