2007 Olney Cue

Here it is guys!!! I ordered this cue close to 4 years ago. At that time I was told by Mr. Olney that it will take close to 4 years so I settled for a plain jane Olney, but I still put my name on the list. I got a call 2 months ago and he told me that my cue is almost ready. I got it this past memorial day weekend. I'm not even sure if he's taking anymore order these days.

It's worth the wait!!! 3 short Ebony points overlap with 3 high Cocobolo points with maple and black veneers into a curly maple forearm.

The finish is superb, very clean, hits great, looks good, and a very well balance cue. Just a plain and Clean 6 overlapping points player's cue!!! What else can I say.

Kudos to you Mr. Olney, one of the best and NICEST cuemaker I've ever dealt with!!!

Maybe the next thing I'm going to do is put a black REAL lizzard wrap. What do you think guys?

That cue is AMAZING, I would suggest you keep the linen wrap, just because Jeff does not install leather wraps himself. Those overlapping points with the combination of veneers is very well coordinated.

Jeff's cues play the best out of any I have had the pleasure of owning. If you can get your hands on one of his cues, do it!

OK, the verdict is out. The wrap stays. Plus I think it's a good idea to keep everything as original as possible. A lot of people think the wrap bring out the cocobolo.

To tlcff8: photo techniques? Hmm to be honest I just use my Boss's Canon power shot Elph , zoom it in and snap it. In another word, there is no special technique. In fact I couldn't take the picture of the whole cue because the camera won't show any detail of the wood at all. I think you can do some search in the forum where some other folks over here really took some nice pictures and they use some kind of techniques.

Thank you for the compliments everyone but the real kudos should go to Mr. Jeff Olney.

If I'm not mistaken, I was being being told/read somewhere that Inside Pool magazine will publish an article about Mr. Jeff Onley cues this coming July/August edition?

My cue is nice isn't it? Now I just have to learn on how to use it
