I know some will be mad that I post this here, but I look at this page more than I look at the others.

VA & DC Pool Players:

It is time once again for the Virginia State 9 Ball Championships! This year I am very excited to announce that 5 Hour Energy approached us and they are the Title Sponsor of the event! They have graciously put up the money for the U.S. Open Entry as well as some of there wonderful product for us to try. As it has been since the beginning of the event, Parrot Cue and The Playing Field are sponsoring and we could not have the tournament without them. My thanks to you all for your continued support!

Just a few things for the players to know about this year:

1) Get your entry fees in as soon as possible. Last year, like the last 2 years, we have filled up quickly and we had a waiting list of players; praying for no-shows!

2) Get your rooms in town as soon as possible as well. We have a small block of rooms to work with this year due to another big event in Richmond for the weekend. This is the best rate we have gotten in the last few years. Please take advantage of it.

3) There will be a few qualifiers for the event this year. More to come on these later.

When: July 28-29
Where: The Playing Field- Richmond, VA
Entry Field: $60 Cash or Money Order Only! No Personal Checks!
VA and DC Residents only!

The flyer will be posted soon with all of the info.

Tell your friends and get them to come play as well. It makes for a more interesting event.

Update on the 2007 VA State 9 Ball Championships Qualifiers

As promised, I am letting folks know where qualifiers for the State Tournament will be.

There will be 2 at The Corner Pocket in Williamsburg, VA and there will be 4 at The Obelisk Billiard Club in Hampton, VA.

Call these pool rooms for dates and details.

There is a possibility that there might be a couple in Richmond.

More to come on that later.

Entries are already starting to come in. The number of spots are already filling up.

As stated on the flier, this tournament is only open to residents of Virginia and the District of Columbia.

This is one FINE event, and I have attended two of them. We missed last year because we were in Las Vegas.

If things go well, Keith and I just may make it this year. I can tell you this, the food is great, the atmosphere is fun, and you won't find a better-run tournament. This is Southern hospitality at its finest!

Jen, I hope you and Keith can make it. It would be great to see you both, as it has been a while. I know Josh would love to see you both there also.
I'm going to keep my fingers cross, hoping that "things go well". :D

As I told Jen in an email- The spectators will be happy to see you guys, the players will be pissed. They will have to play a little harder! LOL

Ok Boys, here's the score!

The field is about HALF FULL! If you want to play, get your $ in ASAP.

As those of you remember from last year, we filled up quickly and had a waiting list to see if there were no shows!

Keep that in mind!

Also, we have changed the design for the State Tournament shirt this year.

Was hesitant at first, but after seeing it, it looks great!

See you in 2 months, if not sooner!

All of those Virginia and DC players are lucky that I'm not a resident and not elligible to play. Otherwise, I would be taking up a spot and donating money to the prize fund. :eek:

I'll be there anyway, just to enjoy a great tournament. :cool:

UPDATE..... Nearly Full Field

OK guys, there are only about 15 spots left for this year's tournament! Won't be certain until I go pick up the latest batch of sign ups. I know there are quite a few out there.

If you have not signed up.........you know who you are............ you better get your money in as soon as possible.

I had a list of folks waiting to see if I had some no shows last year and everyone showed up.

I have someone working the rooms in VA Beach so maybe we will have a few new faces and some that we missed last year.

There are 2 faces that we missed last year. They are the same faces that were on a podcast that was posted on AZ a few days ago.

To the DC Duo:

Please try and come. It is always a pleasure having you here in Richmond.
The first Budweiser is on me!
