2008 WPC is up for grabs!

The 2008 edition of the World Pool Championships will no longer be in the Philippines, according to an article I stumbled upon. Here's a portion of the said article:

"We're happy to announce that the Philippines will be the host of the World 10-ball Pool Championship for five years starting this year," said Anderson.

At the same time, BSCP president Ernesto Fajardo and chair Yen Makabenta announced that the Philippines will give up the third and final hosting rights to the world 9-ball championship in favor of the world 10-ball tournament.

that's a bit sad news for me, I really planned to visit Cebu on that occasion. Seems like they won't need to turn local conference hall to a pool stage now... Which country will step in then? I've heard Indonesia had some prospects?

It will probably be Indonesia. Don't fret my friend, this World 10-Ball Pool Championships will be as grand as the WPC, and I'm sure you won't passed up the chance to witness the inaugural tournament!
 
Hmm...- I was all set to go to the WPC tourney in the Philippines- I'm not as interested in the 10-ball tournament.:mad:

I am not a big fan of Indonesia and probably won't go if it's held there.

if WPA won't make changes to current 10-ball rules I doubt I will go, I don't think I will be interested watching such a game. Philippines are great, but...
