2011 professional tournament schedule?

Hey... I live near Charlotte and was just thinking I'd like to go watch a professional tournament, men's or women's. I know in years past the women have played here in Charlotte.

So I go to wpba.com, and they have absolutely no schedule online of 2011 tournaments? I thought they had a 10 tournament tour or something, has that gone away?

How about the men's tour? I know in years past the men could never even get ONE umbrella organization, some played for this tour, some played for a different one. Is that any different these days? I found the UPA and see all of 2 tournaments listed.. is that it? Where would I go online to see a men's schedule?

Sad, that there's not ONE place you can go, and find this stuff out. You can find golf, tennis, and of course the big 3 (football, baseball, basketball), but an online presence of pool with a 2011 schedule, not seeing it.

There is not men's tour to follow. There's just a bunch of rag tag unafilliated events. You're best bet is to wait until January and then make the sojourn to the annual Derby City Classic. You'll get so much pool during the week you won't be able to stand it.

I would halfway disagree

The Seminole Pro Tour has had 1 $12K added event, has 3 upcoming $25K added events, and a $50K season finale. That's a total prize fund that surpasses just about anything else offered in the entire sport. Even the WPBA has fewer events than this, although they may add some as the year progresses.

The Seminole Pro Tour is open to men and women, and to the best of my knowledge, they have never stiffed the players or been late paying winners.

You would think that with all the talk about the lack of a legitimate tour, there would be more support for the endeavor of the Seminole tribe has undertaken.

Its by attending the events, tuning in to their live stream, and supporting their hosts and sponsors that tours like this can thrive and grow.

I know earlier in the 2000's, the WPBA had 9 or 10 events... basically one a month. Looking at their website now, the next match is in Oct/Nov? What has happened?

By the way.... I see you live in Charlotte. Where do you play ?

depends what you mean stiff...as far as all the cheating that has occured in the round robin events by the pros the average guy has no chance...roundrobin will be the death of the tour..i know over a dozen people that would go to ohio tourney if it was double elimo...you leave the outcome up to the pros nobody wins

Hey Ron,

I generally prefer Badfish or Rackem since I live on the east side. I will occasionally make the rounds all over town though, since I do work n the industry and many of the rooms are our customers.

As for cheating...I can't really speak to that. Maybe it's naive to think that there can be some integrity to the game that everyone here so loves to play and watch. With out that integrity, the game loses all its value. I would say, however, that chopping up a tournament is not specific to round robin events, and can just as easily take place in a double elimination tournament, especially with all the side betting that takes place.

With that being said, The Seminole Tour has this posted on their website -

"All matches will be taped and some live streamed. If a player or players have turned in a wrong score card and are deemed to be purposefully manipulating scores, the tournament director will disqualify players that are proven to be cheating through review of the match footage."
