Well guys we got to the convention center around 10 am where Diamond and Allen Hopkins Productions were waiting with us to finalize on our location and get set up.

After a hiccup filled morning of trial and error with pipe and drape we finally manged to secure an actual arena set up which we are very happy about. Familiar faces were to be seen all around and right now as I type this at 10:41 on day 2 our table lights are being hung which we are thrilled with.

Things are looking up this morning and we are excited to get underway on Day 2. Stop by the 14.1 challenge if you guys have the time.

Can't wait to see you here. Pics to come later this evening.

It was nice meeting you yesterday. I look forward to seeing the pics and hearing about some great runs. I wish I could be there this weekend, but golf is calling.

In case I forget to say this in person, thank you Steve and Charles (and Heather and Elizabeth, of course) for making your dreams and ours come true again for the third year. I was privileged to extend my gratitude to Geoff Conway and the Great Benefactor, Bob Jewett, in person.

Daya-Appleton-Van Boening-Barouty-Schmidt-Chamberlain-Wilkie? Who will comprise the Final Eight?

What are the high runs so far?

Ok guys here are the top 8 as they stand so far,

These are all in five innings.

1. Dave Daya - 202
2. John Schmidt - 201
3. Danny Barouty - 198
4. Bobby Chamberlain - 187
5. Shane Van Boening - 168
6. Mike Miller - 149
7. Dominic Noe - 140
8. Mike Davis - 129

Today we should start seeing a lot more of the big boys and i spoke to Darren and Mika and they will be down today as well as Cory Deuel and Zion. Im looking to see some sparks from Corey as he has been shooting some strong straight pool lately.

Scratch that Ralph Eckert just bumped Mike Davis for one of the top spots. He is still shooting so don't have the number just yet.

Will know in a minute or two.

Current Leaders

John Schmidt 311
Dave Daya 202
Danny Barouty 198
Ralph Eckert 191
Bobby Chamberlain 187
Charlie Williams 179

Fury 14.1 Update

Matchups for 14.1 playoffs
Mika Immonen v. Danny Barouty

John Schmidt v. Dave Daya

Bobby Chamberlain v. Ralph Eckert

Charlie Williams v. Mike Davis

Nice to see Shanes name on there... from what I have gathered reading here and there, he hasn't/hadn't played much 14.1.

Wow! Those are some big numbers. Mike Miller's 175 didn't even hold up! Nice to see Mike Davis return to put up a bigger number to get in.

Bob Madenjian entered in the amateur division?
I thought he was at a pro level at straight pool.

Another amateur had a five round total of 118 and his score was kicked out because it was too high. After that I took my name off the list again as there is no incentive for an amateur to even try as if you do well you will get punished for it.

2012 Fury 14.1 Challenge Day 4 Recap (partial)

As I left the SBE it was still uncertain when and if the final, Charlie Williams versus Mika Immonen for 150 points would take place. Both players had other commitments, the Challenge area had been dismantled, and the Pro Arena was not entirely free after the Shane Van Boening victory over Stevie Moore.

The day's matches were
First round
100 points
Immonen over Barouty
Schmidt over Daya
Eckert over Chamberlain
Williams over Davis

Second round
125 points
Immonen over Eckert
Williams over Schmidt

I was privileged to keep score for both Eckert matches; in the loss to Immonen Ralph needed the break ball only to win, but somehow got out of shape on the key ball and had to safe with fatal results; after a two fouls each and safety battle Mika ran sixteen and out.

Thanks to Charles, Liz, Steve, Heather (at home), Mark, Bob, Sean, Ron, Mike and all the others, particularly Bob Jewett for making this happen again. 2013 will be even better!

Just making sure.........

Are the numbers shown in posts #7 and #9 totals for five attempts rather than the highest run from five attempts?

At first I thought Mr. Schmidt had a 311 inning, and I was surprised that no one was talking about it. But if they are 5-inning totals, that explains it.

If I'm right, then what were the highest runs (single innings)?

Gene: That's tough for Ralph. He lost track of the fact that his opponent was on a foul in the finals at Derby a few years ago when he only needed a few balls and that turned out to be fatal for him. This time, he had the balls he needed open on the table and messed up shape somehow. Sounds like me.

I heard Schmidt had a couple of unlucky scratches in his match with Charlie. Sounds like some good matches.

These are all 5 inning attempts. They have not told us yet about the individual runs other than Shane's 115. I am sure they were working late dismantling their set up and will give us the highlights soon.

John Schmidt had a 127 at around 9p on Saturday, which was the highest at that point, but i missed the later action Saturday night.
