Scoring the way it counted, by matches:
  • Day 1 -- USA 3, Europe 2
  • Day 2 -- USA 2, Europe 3
  • Day 3 -- USA 1, Europe 4
  • Day 4 -- USA 3, Europe 2
  • Total -- 9-11

Scoring by games rather than matches:
  • Day 1 -- USA 17, Europe 21
  • Day 2 -- USA 18, Europe 23
  • Day 3 -- USA 15, Europe 24
  • Day 4 -- USA 19, Europe 15
  • Total -- 69-83

Individual players' records. For this, I counted a full win or loss for each player in a doubles' match (i.e., not splitting the point into halves), and a win and a loss for everyone in the team match (i.e., not splitting the point into fifths). For each player, the first record is for singles, the second for doubles, the third for the team match, and the fourth is the total. Best record -- Archer; worst record -- Shuff and Appleton. Notice that, counting this way, no European had a winning record.

2-0, 3-0, 1-0, 6-0.....Archer
0-2, 1-2, 1-0, 2-4.....Dechaine
1-1, 1-2, 1-0, 3-3.....Hatch
0-3, 1-2, 1-0, 2-5.....Shuff
1-2, 2-0, 1-0, 4-2.....Van Boening

2-1, 0-3, 0-1, 2-5.....Appleton
1-1, 2-1, 0-1, 3-3.....Ekonomopoulos
1-1, 2-1, 0-1, 3-3.....Feijen
3-0, 0-2, 0-1, 3-3.....Melling
1-1, 2-1, 0-1, 3-3.....van den Berg

Instead, counting half a point for each player in a doubles win or loss, and one-fifth of a point for each player in the team match, the records were as follows. Best record -- Archer; worst record -- Shuff. But counting this way, all the Europeans except Appleton had winning records.

Archer: 3.7 - 0
Dechaine: 0.7 - 3.0
Hatch: 1.7 - 2.0
Shuff: 0.7 - 4.0
Van Boening: 2.2 - 2.0

USA Total: 9 - 11

Appleton: 2.0 - 2.7
Ekonomopoulos: 2.0 - 1.7
Feijen: 2.0 - 1.7
Melling: 3.0 - 1.2
van den Berg: 2.0 - 1.7

Europe Total: 11 - 9
