The thread on play broadcasts of yesteryear with those of today came to mind when watching this. Found myself comparing Matchroom production with Accu-Stats. Maybe it's an age thing, since I'm old...but I prefer this over the (too sterile?) productions of today.

 
A lot of the current commentators are like watching someone mow their yard. Pretty flat/dull. I got spoiled back in the day with Buddy,Grady,Danny, WeenieBeanie, even Mataya's antics were prefereable over the clinical match calling today.

Jim Wych is the voice of the Mosconi Cup.

I have no idea why Matchroom got rid of him.

no idea either but his sayings got pretty old imo. i think MR has done right in giving more recent pros a shot at commentating
 
Just my opinion, but I'd rather be sitting in a dentist's chair getting a root canal than to have to listen to Mark Wilson and Danny DiLiberto commentate a match.

Both great men and I fully appreciate their other contributions to pool, but I get tired of Wison's three-dollar words and Diliberto's "do-it-my-way-or-it's-wrong" shot calling opinions.

Although not a fan of him as a player, I actually enjoyed Scott Frost's commentary on the Premier League Pool streams. He and JJ seemed to work well together. Frost displaying enough pool knowledge that JJ didn't have to overwhelm us with his non-stop "he got a little funny on that shot" rhetoric he spews after every other shot.
