** 2014 Mosconi Cup ** - Donny Mills ???

I have known donny since I was 14 and he was a great player..but who the F@!# has he beat in the last 5 years? Oh! Thats right nobody. You keep talking about him horsef! $#@ing everyone mentioned but yet he doesn't play anyone. He works and makes smart money like the intelligent guy that he is.

He has offered to play some guys, on his table his town his rules.
How do you think he would fade a table he's never played on, in a different country with everyone rooting against him. I guarantee not the same way he plays at home in his room his game.

Ok, so you pick any of the new guys and I'll take Donny or Stevie and we can bet $10k on it.

I thought the direction they were going in was new blood, better team chemistry, and strong character? Both of them exhibit all 3 of those qualities, plus they play better than all of the other guys on the list. If anyone wants to dispute that then ask them if they would like to gamble with either one of them.

stop!!! if we put our best up we might get there, CAN'T have that, can we??

apparently not. If he's stupid enough to pass over Donny, Stevie, Corey, and even Dechaine (can't believe I just said that), then he deserves what he gets. And that will be a horrible defeat. I can see removing Rodney, Earl, and Dennis who all play better than any of the fresh meat being considered, but to also pass over those that would bring good chemistry and a better dynamic to the team , AND that play better would just be moronic.

I'd say Landon is a lock. At least to be named to them8 member squad. Landon and his dad ARE part of the industry. Furthermore, Landon is young and teachable. Donny and Landon are nothing alike.

You are correct, Donny could give Landon the 7 out

Not knocking Landon or any of the other young guys on the list, but there's a 38 year old left handed guy sitting at a local bar in Athens drinking like he does most nights. He hardly ever picks up a cue anymore and would be 257th on the list of Mosconi Cup candidates. That being said, I'd let him play Landon or almost any of the other newbies on the list for as much as they could stand tomorrow. That's how out of line some of these guys are for consideration, IF the cup is going to be at all competitive, imo.

Too bad for Donny that not the only criteria. If it was, we'd have Earl and Johnny, etc, on the team in perpetuity and Donny wouldn't even get a mention.

by and large E is fine in regional events, however, the bigger the stage the bigger an ass he is and no stage is larger than the MC

he and this venue are kaput

you are correct, hence I said that I can see removing the old guard, but not passing over more worthy, seasoned first timers. If his goal is to adopt a 7-8 year plan and try to teach all of these really young guys and hopefully compete eventually, then by all means go for it, but the first several years aren't even gonna be worth watching and I don't think SKY Sports will have any of it.

I think Dechaine needs to be on the team regardless. His results in tournaments speak for themselves. Guy plays good and wants to win as much as anyone in pool right now. Heart and skill.
