Welsh Open Number of 147's in tournament betting odds

Back in the day I walked into Tommy Mac's , the local bookies & asked what the odds were for a 147 to happen in the tournament & he looked @ me straight in the eye & sez the only odds you will get is name the player that does the 147 & then I'll quote you .

Well , I thought what a stinker Tommy Mac & I kept my £1 in my pocket because it's hard enough to pick the tournament it happens in never mind what player pulls a 147 off .

I never put that bet on & no player knocked in a 147 but what about this time ?

None or 1 or 2 or more ?

How comes Ronnie started this gig @ 4/1 but Da pesky Bookies have chalked him up @ 2/1 for the Worlds ? ( Ronnie was 9/2 for the Worlds before Christmas . )

What goes on inside a pesky Bookies head when they chalk up the odds but maybe that's like trying to guess what's going on inside Ronnie's head & does he want to win the title etc ?

I can't figure out either of them but Ronnie's through to the next round .

Shaun is playing well as Underclocked pointed out the other week & he's a best priced 14/1 for the title & Ladbrokes bookies must have liabilities as they only go 10/1 for Shaun to take the title ! :smile::D:thumbup:

100/30 fav is the best price on Ronnie & he doesn't enter a lot of the short frame winner gigs so maybe that's why the bookies quoted such generous odds of 4/1 about him winning this title .

Odds not great considering Chris took out Martin Gould in the masters


Fu's coach is/was Terry Griffiths his club is not far from this event
might give Fu an advantage in respect of practice

Two flies on the wall but which one flies the highest ?

1. 1/5 was a skinny price for Marco Fu for the win @ the start of the match but you would probably have got better odds 'in running' if you were confident enough on a Marco Fu win .

2. There's better odds to be found if you can guess the match winner & correct frame score .

I ended up watching more of the Kurt Maffin match which was far more entertaining,
Fu was playing awful by his standards even in running I did not fancy him.

I do fancy Maffin to beat Fu when they play tomorrow.

You heard it here first!
