Ronnie O'Sullivan reaches Welsh Open semi-finals

O'Sullivan marches past Higgins:

Ronnie didn't need to march too hard or go through the gears as John never showed up .

That must be John Higgins worst performance in tournament play for years , the safety play was dire & I think he only got one long pot in the whole match , back to the drawing board for Mr Higgins .

Ding lucked out against young Joel who must've been looking at 6 big buckets for pockets but once he got to the hill the pockets shrunk & the chances to win came & went but he had a good tournament & the pay cheque gets him into a few more tournaments & he had a good debut in front of the TV cameras !

I kid you not !

Skybet match market odds:

1/3 Ding & Joe is 9/4.

The BBC coverage of this tournament has been garbage & last night I had the snooker on the BBC Red button @ 7pm but they took it off @ 7.30pm for Folk Music awards .....again.

Watching Ding V Joe Semi Final's on the BBC Red button they put the snooker off @ 5-4 to Ding for Final Scores of the football ! :(

Dang !

Auntie Beeb's Red button TV feed just cut off on me again.....

This time they have switched to Darcey Bucell: A Ballerina's Life.

I hope you watched the sixth frame ( luckily i have eurosport)

Not kidding it was incredible stuff from ROS

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Black to yellow

Holy shit, I have seen it all. There has NEVER been a better player than O'Sullivan. That maximum was simply unbelievable.

Taking the final black left handed was the snooker equivalent of beating the goalie and nodding the ball over the line with your head. We've all did that as kids. He does it on live TV, to break a record that may never be beaten. The final red with the left hand is one of the best shots I've ever seen and the green with the rest was insanely good as well. Christ, he gets some gear on the ball.

It takes balls to do that. The man has the lot. I don't know what Steve Peters does for him but the difference between Ronnie of a few years ago and Ronnie now is light and day. He is absolutely complete as a player, with a long game as good as anyone, ever, to boot.

Penultimate red screwing into the middle bag was good as well.

I thought that the 147 was never on due to the red being down the baulk end near the side cush!!

what a break

The correct answer was one !

http://bettingzone.oddschecker.com/snooker/welsh-open/number-of-147s-in-tournament

No 147 @ 8/13 .

One 147 @ 6/4 .

2 or more 147's @ 17/2 .

Back in the day I walked into Tommy Mac's , the local bookies & asked what the odds were for a 147 to happen in the tournament & he looked @ me straight in the eye & sez the only odds you will get is name the player that does the 147 & then I'll quote you .

Well , I thought what a stinker Tommy Mac & I kept my £1 in my pocket because it's hard enough to pick the tournament it happens in never mind what player pulls a 147 off .

I never put that bet on & no player knocked in a 147 but what about this time ?

None or 1 or 2 or more ?

A very special one !

If you were on @ 6/4 for one 147 , go collect ! :wink::D:thumbup:
