Nice post.
Good come back by Tran.

And great shot for the win.
Can anyone tell me what he hit that with? Straight right? Need to practice that one.

I think it was center right that had turned into slight follow by the time it got to the ball. Notice that he cut the first object ball fairly thin. The combination of cut, right and follow has to get the OB to the short rail nearly at the corner and still have some right spin remaining.

Here are the prizes for the top eight (from Kozoom).

1 Quyet Chien Tran 61.000 euros (about 70,000 US$)
2 Frédéric Caudron 30.000
3 and 4: HaengJik Kim and Dong-Koong Kang, 15.000
5 to 8: Murat Naci Coklu, Dani Sanchez, Hyon Min Seo, Eddy Merckx 7.500 euros

Caudron had the best game (40 in 10 innings) and the high grand average (2.705).

M. W. Cho had an average of over 3 in one of the group-phase matches but lost 40-34 in 11 innings. I hate to lose when I average 3.

Thanx for that, TCC....finally got a chance to watch it.

...sounds like Tran uses a pretty hard tip...it sounded glassy compared to Caudron’s.
....and it might’ve resulted in that crucial miscue.
