2023 AZB Ghost Challenge - Official Thread

Played 3 sets against the ghost today, was very happy to have won all 3 , 7 5, 7 4 and 7 6.
(BIH 9 ball ghost, 8 foot home table)
I am usually only about 1/3 odds to win the ghost set so tonight was a good night.
I am somewhere between 550-600 Fargo depending when you catch me.

I beat the 9ball ghost 7-5 then kept going to 11-8. I have a 9’ Diamond PC 4.5 pro am. New to Fargo at 278. I think I can do better because I gagged a couple easy outs but that’s just pool I guess.

my two best consecutive racks so far (no BIH). Had no shot after the break on the third rack

Played some one pocket Ghost and had match of 39p on 5 racks.. After that i decided to play 15ball ghost but i got brainfart and accidently break with one pocket ghost break but ran nice rack anyway. Here is that rack..

Played race to 7 test Ghost with "Fedor" rules.
won 7-3. I think I played very good. I did not edit properly because my video editing software is bugged now so i used windows video editor to just cut video to that match. I played some one pocket ghost before that...

We have a great mix of all levels here so most everyone can learn something from many members.
Has anyone ever done a poll to get an idea of what the average rating is on the board?

Probalby the same as a real pool hall. A mix of bangers to Open level players, with the occasional touring pro mixed in over the years.

Played One Pocket Ghost and talked my thoughts etc...
I think i got 48 points and one CRAZY 15 ball run too

7-5 win, normal 9-ball ghost.

First set posted on the new Diamond! Im not good enough to beat the pro ghost yet, but I’m building up to it. I played a hybrid rule set for this race. If I had a workable shot on the lowest ball, no ball in hand. But other than that, normal ghost rules.

5-7 loss, regular 9-ball ghost.

Got off work a little early and decided to play a couple of sets. First set was horrible. At least this one was close. Lots of editing! Chopped this one up and got it down to 7 minutes. I think I might start doing all my videos this way, unless I do something special.

Nothing too remarkable but its my new personal best, 11 balls on the 1p bih ghost. No need to record it, just wanted to share with someone. Hope to get to 15 soon.

6-0 against the 9-Ball Ghost (1 on the spot, BIH after break, template rack)

Long time lurker, but only recently joined... finally have something worthy of posting (IMO). My previous best was 3 in a row. I had been away from pool for about 15 years and got back into it about 18 months ago. Was just using my phone sitting on a shelf to record and my phone battery died right after the 6th rack... I lost the next rack anyway so no harm done. I plan to get a better setup for recording and hope to have some better runs to share in the future.

One more, then I’m done for a while. Normal 9-ball ghost, 7-6 win from this morning after work.

Still working towards playing the pro ghost. Only took ball in hand if I needed it. This was a hard fought set. Had some great chances to close it out decisively, but couldn’t get it done. Chopped out all the fluff again to make it more watchable. Had music playing and the video got blocked, so I had to mute the audio and upload again.

Nice job guys.
Lots of ghostbusters here.
I recently purchased a new PC for work and it came with a camera.
I hope to connect it to my laptop to record pool sessions.
Had enough time for a short set with the 9b ghost yesterday on my ProAm.
5-4 win but the first two racks were simple connect-the-dots runouts that I screwed up and lost.
I should have gotten the first 5 in a row if I hadn't dogged my shape.
I'm hoping adding the ghost to my practice will make me mentally tough like I used to be.
I don't seem to have the drive I used to have now that I'm older and financially comfortable.
Next week I hope to have time for a longer set and to possibly record it.
