In his last 6 semi-final appearances he is 6-0 with a frames won-loss of 102-61

When Mark Williams won the 2018 championship against, of all people, John Higgins, he kept his promise that he'd go naked if he won the world title. And he did.

zhao's mental fortitude will be a big factor. chinese players have always been weak at the world championship imo. lots of fan expectations back home, tens maybe hundreds of millions watching. whereas the other 3 have all been there, done that.

pressure wise, williams is free wheeling. for trump it's the old "he's that good but has only won once..." thing, and ronnie will be feeling the pressure of possibly writing history

28-year-old Zhao is in the zone right now. Ronnie has made several fumbles. Well, we've got a long way to go, but I hope Ronnie starts dialing in. It's 2-nothing, Zhao on top.

I noticed Ronnie did not shave today, and he's also sitting on the right seat instead of the left, as he had previous matches. Hmm.

very entertaining and flowing snooker so far. mostly attack. there was one safety battle in rack 3 where zhao made a surgical cue ball position in behind a close-to-cushion blue. two visits later ronnie let the cue talk and it said "well i can do that too". 2-2.

Oh wow, this is like ice cream for breakfast. Ronnie and Zhao. Zhao is Chinese for Young Zorro. Well still in training. Shrug 3-2 Ronnie but oh what a show. Go Ronnie go.
 
This young man is resembling Ronnie in So Many ways. Academy.....Definitely shrug 3 each just like that. Blink and you miss it. 😉
 
Ronnie back in the lead, 4-3. I think that titanium ferrule is upsetting his shots. Stephen Hendry said he thought Ronnie should have stuck with brass before this event instead of trying a new one.

Entertaining match, balls dropping out of the corner pocket on the floor. Crowd was laughing. Everybody was, actually. Session 1 ends in a tie. Session 2 begins tomorrow at 5 a.m. Eastern Time.
