1st WNT Ranking event of 2026.
Almost 30 x800 in field of 128. Pretty strong for ranking event. Good to see female players Rita Chou, Wei Wei, Silviana Lu in the mix.

Watched a bit on Youtube and WeChat channels via. CPBA yesterday. Wasn't overly enthralled with the action. Hope the games pick up a bit. Was especially disappointed with the Yapp/KPC game. Both played distinctly average.

Edit: Just noticed, it seems these games were for the warm-up event
 
AJ Manas surprisingly swept his group, including a win over Ko Pin Yi, to advance to the last 8.
 
Pretty much an all-Asia field, but I'll celebrate the conception of any new Matchroom major. Late correction: this is not a major, but it is a big step forward to have a WNT ranking event in Taipei and it's great that it's on WNT-TV.

There should be some fine pool on display come Thursday. Good luck to all of these fine players.

He just won Finnish Kaisa ranking event in our club last weekend. Beating our future star Vilho (12 year old) in finals 60-0. Arseni did lost to Vilho earlier in tournament but it is true double elimination one.
I did not play in it but i played some banks with Arseni after he told me he is doing Derby too. He ran 5 and out first one but i won 7 next ;)

New U.S. citizen Thorsten Hohmann looking to qualify for the USA Mosconi team.
Hope he and Justin Bergman have good years and make it.
Them playing with the USA top 3 could make it a little more interesting.
And if that fails as badly as this year, blow it up and go with the youth movement.
 
A lot of non participation from USA and Europe...
I also get admire with the "new" Philippine names that always come out at every asian tournament.
