25K more Added $ in U.S. Open ?

I know that Barry likes to add as much added money as he can.
Did this extra 25K come about to get the "Tier II World Event " ranking
and is this going to get Barry and the U.S. Open in a pinch once again?

Am I missing something or has the added money gone up by 25k
in less than thirty days.

This was in the latest news section on, April 30
(notice that it says $50k added)

" As mentioned prior, I will be adding $50,000, which will be in escrow by July 15th, 90 – days out, which will come from the $40,000 from V.I.P. seat money going directly into my SunTrust bank U.S. Open account which will be set up for all to click on & view. The remaining $10,000 will be in NO LATER than July 15th, 90 days prior.”

This is what I read, in the latest news section today, May 22
(notice it says 75k added)

"This sanction will allow players to earn WPA ranking points by competing in the Open. This event, due to the $75,000 in added money, will be a Tier II World Event and as such awards higher player points than events with less added money. Thus the Open becomes an event of interest to the top 16 players in the world, who are passionate about maintaining their status, and to all international players who are seeking to move up in the rankings."

All of a sudden there is 25k additional added monies, I root for Barry and the U.S. Open
to always come out well. Hope this isn't going to be a problem ?

Big whoopt... the WPA and their events are as relevant to professional pool as Kevin T's cellmate here in the US.....

If Barry even bothers with sanctioning I will laugh... Points don't do didly for Mosconi invites nor will they help in the other invitationals here in the states.... At this point I will extend both middle fingers to Paul Gurney and the WPA as deserved... Paul sold us down a river with no paddles...... great ambassador..

I'm wondering if the increased entry fee and lower payout
actually led to them having trouble filling the bracket, even though it's been cut in half.

Maybe too many top players were showing no interest this year
so he's trying to entice them (or anyone else) into coming back.
