Snapshot9 if my memory has not failed me were you not packing a 4 x 8 at one time?

Yes, I had a Porper vinyl 4 x 8, and took it loaded to Vegas for 10 days. The shoulder strap was not wide enough nor padded, and my shoulder got extremely sore from carrying the case all day(s), so much so that I felt it hurt me in my matches I had to play in singles. After I got back, I bought a seat belt pad for the shoulder strap to ease up on my shoulder, but I just was not happy with the case overall.

I like the 3 x 5 I have now. It is vinyl (synthetic leather), not leather, has a wide padded shoulder strap. If you are going to get a 3 by or 4 by case in leather, make sure it is a lite case, and that the shoulder pad is wide and padded. I carry 2 butts and 3 shafts, but like the extra room in the case.

Serious players usually get a 3 x 6, but they might carry a 2 x 4 when on the road, at least that has been my experience.

Snapshot9 here is a solution to your pain a PADDED CAMERA BAG PAD I used one for years in my work as a Freelance Photojournalist, it was great, less than 20 Bucks, and ergonomically design to fit all shoulders.

Most Pro Camera Stores carry Domke Camera Bags the Standard for the Working Photojournalist. Check out the Domke Camera Bag/Postal Pad.
