Bought a 3/8 10 aftermarket shaft for a modified butt. Can you just bore it a little bigger to get it to fit the modified butt. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Nate

What's the insert made of? A standard 3/8x10 tap works fine to screw shafts onto a modified pin.

The difference is that you have to start them very carefully and keep the shift straight.

A few times of this and it will go on effortlessly.

If you put the shaft on the tip of the pin and twist counterclockwise, you will feel the shift 'settle' onto the threads and you're started.

post this in ask the cue maker section, there should be a cue repairman that lives close enough to were you live you can take it to them and get it fixed.

I don't really understand. I play with an OB2 shaft, and it fits onto my Hunter with a modified 3/8x10 without a problem... The pin size and thread pitch is still the same, the only difference is the square root vs the v root. I can see how it might be a little tight if you're trying to put a shaft made for a modified pin onto a conventional pin, but you shouldn't have any problem the other way around.

mezz

It's a new mezz shaft standard 3/8 10 pin. Pin is a sugartree 3/8 10 modified . The top of the pin is just slightly too large to let the shaft slide on to get to the threads and don't want to force it???? I think opening the end would do it but not sure.
