This picture above is a cue that has a nice shaft, here I am showing the butt because if I show the shaft it will not reflect how it looks from the inside, so for better view I provide a picture of the joint pin itself.

I got another butt which is the normal 3/8*10 pin.... so my question is, is there any easy method to make the shaft of the above picture work with the pin 3/8*10 butt?

I mean to my understanding is that the size is the same but the shaft should have one more thread right? but when I try to screw them in the middle it gets very tight so I stopped trying to fit them together, please just clarify if what i am saying is correct or is the size between threads different in which case I cannot fit in these two? thanks in advance.

No it won’t work. The “10” means there are ten threads in one inch. The “11” means there are 11 threads in one inch. The result is the spacing of the threads is different.

The second issue besides the spacing is the vertical shape of the threads. They are usually a lot different between these two thread sizes.

Thank you very much, now I understand.

So I probably need a mid-section converter, i.e. an adapter which then makes the cue longer! again, thank you for explaining the per inch thing, I did not know.

Other than converter, if I get it to a cue repair guy, can he tap it and make it work? btw its a CF shaft.
