Hello all!

So, I'm giving 3 Cushion Billiards a try today. Have only played the game a few times and when I did, I manipulated the rules so that Tony didn't crush me so I wasn't really playing it properly. Today it'll be an actual game of 3C.

Any tips on the game, strategies and kicking systems that have worked for you would be greatly appreciated.

Have a good one and thanks!

Thanks for the info. The thread you copied into here ... you put a diagram with a table and used an equation .... 2 / 2 = 1 diamond of english. How'd you determine that CB placement was 2 and so on?
When counting across the short side you simply count how many diamonds your CB has to travel. When shooting down the long side you count the diamonds you need to travel and divide by 2. The table is twice as long as wide. That's the reason for dividing.

In the diagram I have a ball sitting in the middle of the short. Thats 2 diamonds from the corner. The 9 ball is laying in the corner pocket. The english that will give me a 1 diamond spread across the short will give me 2 diamonds down the long. Thats how I hit it and my personal preference is across the equator.

If the 9ball were laying on the second diamond rather than the pocket I'd hit the shot with a 2 diamond hit. 2X2=4. Both balls are 2 diamonds from the corner which adds to a 4 diamond travel. Its very easy once you calibrate your stroke.

Another tip from George Ashby on this type of shot is an extremely light grip.
