3 Most Likely Cues To Go Up In Value/$?

Paul Fanelli

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Paul Fanelli cues... Two years ago one could be found for around 2-3k. One seller had one up here on AZ for around 1700 less than a year ago, and it lasted maybe 10 minutes before it was snatched right up for a killer buy... Good luck finding one for under 4 grand nowadays...
Clint<---Never touched, seen, or played with a Fanelli, but his reputation as a cue builder appears pretty darn solid...

Paul Fanelli was a great friend of mine.

He made a break jump cue for me & refused to take my money! Not only was he a good Cue Maker but A Great Guy & I miss him.

My Order of the subject
1-Paul Fanelli
2- Joss West
3- Paul F. Mottey

Hercek

Wayne, Bender, Hercek, Omega. Not that they're inexpensive now, but you watch!

Hercek especially, he has mastered the full splice method, and his teacher being Burton Spain really makes his cues a wise choice.

Szamboti
Balabushka
South West (ebony nose)

JV (---- always go Blue Chip

Hey Joe,

I wonder if equilibrium will come into play with cues (or any other commodity, for that matter)?

Eventually, every commodity reaches it's "critical mass" point. Unless there is something to drive demand over this plateau, the rise in prices will not continue.

Along that thought, we are talking cues, not, say, building materials or oil, that have a much larger consumer base, constant demands, and any change in supply can cause prices to spike.

Persoanlly, I think "investing" in cues is a suckers bet. It's one thing if it is a pure hobby that you don't really depend on extracting a return on your investment, but the biggest suckers are the ones that think they are gonna get rich off of selling their cues one day. The sky is not the limit on cue values and the prices have no strong market forces to push the values higher and higher, forever.

Eric >thinks Beanie Babies are a smarter investment

Joss West since Bill Stroud retired as a cue maker
Paul Fanelli butterfly cue. Absolutely a work of art
Zambotti the one made for Spanky (Jack Romeo) and sold to Joe from Q-Time Midland Park. From my understanding it was one of the last cues Gus made before his death

I have a Schick that hands down is the best playing and perfect cue I have truely ever owned. I don't know if all his are as great but wow wow wow. It has the original tips from 94 and I worry what to do if I ever have to replace one.
Bill is the man in my book on true hall of fame value

I just wrote a PM to CMD earlier today saying the same thing about my Schick and using the "hands down" qualifier twice in the same note. People with Schick cues tend to hold them in equally high regard.

Bill makes his own tips. Not sure how yours have lasted since 1994 (maybe you just bought it). Mine wore out annually. I used to send my shafts back to Bill for retipping. That way he could check out the ferrrules etc. when he was doing the work. His tips are my favorites out of the dozen or so that I've tried. He presses them to medium-hard (his description). I would like to have a box of them for my other cues. I haven't sent the shafts back to him in several years. I started using Talisman WB Hard which may never wear out. While I am really happy with the Talisman, I still prefer the Schick tips.
