Hi All, I built this for a friend at the leauge.I believe his A Z name is catscradle
The handle is straight grained maple with ebony butt sleeve, hopie ring and natural linen butt cap.A brown leather wrap looks like snake skin. The center section is from a dufferin house cue.I added 4 more ebony pionts to make a pionter. The shaft is a laminated maple 22 inches long with a 3/8 g-10 pin.

Joe,

Was there anything special you had to do to get the cue to play well? Is the balance and feel about the same as a regular 2 piece cue? I wonder if the short shaft would be very stiff compared to a longer shaft.

Chris

I used the fiberglass pin into the shaft and there is no insert this helped to keep the balance feeling ok. The cue wieght is 19.5 but it is on the stiff side with a softer (not much of a ping)hit.

all it needs now joe is a custom wood carrying case. i better not put ideas in catscradle's head. joe, this is really amazing. i wonder if he could take this on an airline in an overnight bag? that would be interesting to see. great work as usual joe. i'll call you tonite, i have an idea for my next cue.

The concept is that it will fit a regular suitcase catty-corner. I got the idea from Lou Figueroa, he had one made years ago. My next step is to get a case, but it sure won't be wooden to accomplish the purpose I had in mind. Just something simple, probably envelope style leather. I spoke to Jim (I think Jim) Murnak about a year ago and he quoted a reasonable price, I'll have to see what he comes up with when we have specifics in mind.

Joe, see you tonight. The cue looks great, can't wait to see how it plays.

Steve.
