I have a few tournaments coming up and decided to start playing the ghost long sets of 9 ball. I was expecting a better win than this. Going to play race to 30 daily for a month switching between 8 and 9 ball. Hoping for 70% win ratio, looks like I better buckle down.

30 to 22, I'd be happy with that...for awhile. LOL. Good luck in the tournaments. Johnnyt

are wins calculated as run outs only; or just a win to include an early pocketing of the cash ball ( combos, etc..)?
I just cant break and run out 70% of the time I think 40% would be nice and I think I play pretty well. Sometimes there are clusters and sometimes the money ball is so close to the hole and the object ball that it is going in regardless.

I am playing the ghost. I take BIH and start running the rack. Last weekend I had someone over and B & R probably close to 50%. The best I have played this year! I would be really happy with 40% on any regular bases. Taking ball in hand though, I should be well over 50%. I do count combo's. I play the same as a regular match (except 9's on break). I can only remember 1 combo on the 9 in the race to 30. The 9 went to bottom rail and the 5 froze dead in.

If you are snapping off 40% B&R, you do play pretty well indeed.

When I play this I do count early Money Balls, but I set my own personal rule. Because I'm getting BIH on the first ball, I never go for the combo on the money. But if I can play shape and get to another ball and make it, I count it.

Also, more and more, as I get better, I try and run out every racks that I can without taking BIH. But if I get hooked off the break, then I take it.

Now that I'm talking about this, I think I might resort to pushing out to a good shot and trying to run from there instead of taking BIH. hmm...
