I took mechanical drawing in junior high. We used clear plastic 30/60/90 degree triangles of various sizes to help draw stuff-sliding them along the Tsquare to yield parallel lines.(Yeah-I know this is ancient)

On the snooker table I try to 'see' a similar triangle when kicking off the bottom short rail attempting a 3 railer back to the pocket. Without a 'fly on the wall' reference it seems to come close-maybe add or subtract running english. Sort of 1 unit over/2 units up as an aiming line to the side rail.
I don't understand the diamonds on the snooker table(at 1/2 and 1/3?) from the corner toward the side pockets depending on the end you're on.

It does seem to work-I guess I don't need to know why.

Any of you guys do this or something similar? (Especially on 5x10 or 6x12)

Thanks

While the 30 degree (rolling CB) and 90 degree (sliding CB) principles apply and crossover well in pool, 60 degrees doesn't come up...except visualizing very thin cut angles.
