3040 cnc machine ... question ...

I bought a 3040 CNC machine a few years ago and have been turning the spindle motor on and off from the control panel.
It would be nice to have mach 3 turn it off at the end of the program.
Dont have any internal wiring documentation and the m03 or m05 cnc instructions dont do anything.

Has anyone else using this CNC machine configured it to do this?
Would you share the info?

Can't help but I can hopefully point you in the right direction. It's going to depend on whether that VFD has inputs for spindle on/off/reverse. Some did and some didn't. Then it also depends on whether your controller has outputs, and in the case of speed, a variable voltage output to match the VFD's speed control input. The VFD and controller are inside your black box.

The best place I've found for friendly knowlegable information and advice on these chinese machines is over at the CNC Zone forum. Here's a link to the chinese CNC sub forum: https://www.cnczone.com/forums/chinese-machines/

Create an account and post up the same question as above, someone should get back to you within a day or two with an answer. Be sure to include the picture as there are several versions of the black box units. I don't ever remember seeing one like yours. You could also search that forum, this question could have came up before. Problem with these units is they change all the time and there's not really any documentation on any of the ones I've seen. People over there have figured out most of these issues. Sometimes it's just not possible however.

Hope this helps and you get your answer.

Thanks Kgoods for the info.
Yeah they change the units quite often i guess based on what batch of parts they have access to.
I dont complain as the price is about one quarter of other units.
If you can make one work then you saved some cash ... if not you haven't lost a lot.
I have been looking to upgrade my controller to something better and documented.
A thumbs up for your reply ... thanks.
