314-3?

Didn't realize that Predator came out with a new shaft ... I guess I am behind the times. They mention that the new shaft has "even better game changing performance." That doesn't mean much without numbers to support it. Anyone do any testing to confirm that the new 3gen shafts have less deflection or are any better or is this just marketing BS?

By the way, I am selling "game changing performance" in a special bottle of water. Just send me 20 bucks and I will send you my special formula. :)

I love your sense of humor

This was discussed a bit in a recent thread.

I didn't appear that any reliable testing had been done and people had conflicting opinions regarding the hit, the feel and the deflection (surprise, surprise).

Deflection test of 314-3:

On his youtube channel you can find deflection tests of vantage, z3, 314-2, z2 for comparison.:thumbup:

When I said it didn't appear that any reliable testing had been done I was talking about by the people that were giving their opinions in the thread I linked to. I had and still have no idea what all is out there as far as testing for this (314-3) shaft. I just provided a link to an opinion thread I recalled seeing recently and noted that none of the opinions in it were claimed as having been based on any reliable tests.

As far as the video you link to, while it does give some testing, it doesn't compare those test results to those from any other shaft so based on this video alone you still don't know whether the 314-3 is "better" or has less deflection than other already existing shafts (and this is precisely what the OP's question is). Obviously if there are other tests on other shafts that were done the exact same way and with the exact same spacing between the measurement numbers on the rail then the OP or anyone else could compare the tests themselves assuming those other identical tests can be found easily enough (I haven't looked).
