Ok Steve...results of the test are that the 314 plays wonderful. Downside is the plastic ferrule that absorbs chalk and melts with use. The Tiger X has a much better "hit" but for me I like the longer taper of the 314. In fact it seems to me that the 314 makes use of inside english much easier than any 1pc shaft. But thats my opinion. Why do you want to bash me for trying some new technology. Not that I owe you any expanation but my new cue I'm building will have my 1pc shafts.
No jab intended on Kelly Fisher & Val Finnie, very nice ladies, I enjoy doing work for them....they are pro players who use 314's on their cues...why don't you ask them why they use 314's instead of Fury shafts.
As far as Wayne...I made a positive comment on how his work must of improved. I too easily remember the cues he had in the display at the Smokin' Cue...5 cues for sale and not a single one of them had collars on the shaft that matched the collars under the steel joint. Even different colors with no matching ringwork. I asked about this thinking maybe they were the wrong shafts but was informed they were the correct shafts that Wayne made for each cue...no idea why they didn't match. A guy brought me one to make a shaft to match the butt...upon inspecting the original shaft it measured like 13.45mm at the top of the ferrule and 3 inches below the ferrule it measured 12.95mm...and this was a new & unchalked shaft. I've met Wayne and he's indeed a nice guy, I liked the looks of his new cue you posted...I just hope for his sake and for the people that purchase, that he's improved some things.
As for cutting 1pc house cues in half...I've done hundreds. Most all cuemakers use quality house cues as the butt section for a sneaky. Tim Scruggs used Valley's for years. Nothing wrong with doing that, putting in a joint and making a shaft for it. Thats what a "custom" sneaky is. I tried using your Sterling brand, but 75% had the metal weight not centered and it wobbled horribly as you rolled them. I have better sources now. If you have any more questions concerning my business why don't you drive down to Rack Em tonight...you are going to bump into me in person sooner or later. You should be very wary of trying to bash someone's business when you live in the same town as them!!! Real smart move!
Let me ask you how you claim to be a pool teacher. You know as well as I do your game is a joke. Last I remember you were an APA skill level 5 at best...and that was questionable. I remember everyone at Mothers laughing at you trying to give lessons. I'm no good player either but at least I'm an APA 7. Why don't you tell everyone how James Brown owner of a past local room...threw you out for doing horrible cue work. And a couple of other places too. I even had to fix one of the pros cues from team Fury...after you absolutely butchered it trying to simply put on a tip.
Sad when the people you work for have to call me to fix what you've destroyed because one of team Fury was about to leave for a tourney and couldn't use her shaft.
Hope to see you soon...
