I am not sure either but I beleive the website Predator should cover it. I think it might have to do with the ferrule, and beefing it up.

Differences are as follows:

* Joint collars are now solid and more durable.
* New ferrule on 314-2 is a titan ferrule and is stronger.
* Shaft comes standard with an Everest laminated tip.
* Ferrule is bored differently reducing deflection and is stronger.
* Deflection is 5% less than the previous 314 shaft.

Does that mean the price is 5% more too?

predator shafts

Not to down the predator shafts but,I have talked to two of the more prominent cuemakers and they told me that their shafts would hit the same as Predator if they used the same 12.75 and 11.75 mm sizes with the shorter ferrules. They went on to say that the way their shafts are now, with the standard 13mm,hit with enough power and with little enough deflection to get the ball anywhere on the table with even a reasonable stroke.Like I said, not downing the predators but,why spend the money on after market shafts when most good cuemakers could do the same?Just food for thought, not trying to start an argument( ) but how about thoughts from other forum members.:D
