314 v2 vs OB shaft?

314 vs. OB-1, my impressions.

I've been playing with a 314 shaft for two years now on a cheap excaliber cue that I won in league play. I was playing with my Mcworter, but I switched over to the 314 shaft as it clearly outperformed it. I've been considering buying a 314 shaft for my Mcworter and I even tried to sell it, unsuccessfully. Tonight, I got the chance to play with an OB-1 shaft on my Mcworter as there is a Hunter tour stop here in Austin and the OB-1 owner was here letting people hit with his shafts.
After about 30 minutes of playing around back and forth with the OB-1 and my 314, I decided I liked the OB-1 better and bought it. They both seem to have about the same amount of deflection, but the OB-1 has a softer and somehow more solid hit. What won me over was the combination of low deflection and cue ball control. I find it easier to work the ball with the OB-1. This is a great product and I recommend it to anyone that is looking to improve their shot making. It's great to see someone come along and produce a superior product that will make the Engineers at Predator re-think their process. :D

I've shot both and couldn't tell any real difference except that the 314 makes the hollow sound it's famous for.

If you like a Stiff hit, get the Predator shaft. They hit as hard as a rock and are gauranteed to ruin the hit of any cue you thread it on...

I love the consistancy and predictability, but I hate the hit...

I will try an OB-1 next..

I have been playing with a house cue lately because I really like the stiffness. What I do not like is they tend to be short. So are you saying it plays this stiff?

Thanks.
