I'll be up in Phoenix in a couple of weeks and I may have time for some 3-Cushion. I know Bullshooters has a billiard table, any others ? I can't believe that a metro of 5 million only has one billiard table.

There are 3 at the Sun City Bell Rec Center and I believe some at the Sun City West R H Johnson Rec Center. I believe they are all un heated Brunswicks.

I don't remember seeing any billiard tables in the rooms I've visited - Jesters, Kolby's and a couple others. If you're up for a little drive, Pockets in Tucson is active with billiards.

Thanks for your reply. I live in Tucson, play at Pockets. I guess I should put that in my profile if I intend to start posting here a lot.

I got some bad news for you....there aint no 3c in Phoenix....
....as a matter of fact, there aint even one C....

:duck:

Hello, Azazello. I see you're new here so let me say welcome to the forum to end all forums. Lots of drama, action aplenty, and an occasional funny story. Enjoy!

P.S. When you get to Phoenix, keep an eye out for an older gentleman who goes by the name of San Jose Dick. Tell him to write if he gets work.

P.S.S. Oh yeah, have some greenies.

There is a place on the corner of 16th St. & McDowell that might have a table or two. It used to be The Lucky Cue and definitely had billiard tables. They were recently bought out and renamed The Silverado, which was a Hispanic dance hall. That didn't work out too well, so now, the building simply has a sign that says Billiares on it, so I know it's back to being a poolroom. I'm assuming they still had the tables from their Lucky Cue days. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call.

Word to the wise: I see by your name that you might be Hispanic or Italian. This has always been a rough club, and if you are a Gringo, you'll have no problem during the day. Night time isn't the right time to be there unless you are Latino. No racism, just reality.

Thanks for the reply, Hunter. I'm puro gabacho, the username is from a Russian novel. I'll definitely check that place out. I know enough Spanish to play carambola.

If a Frenchman speaks enough Spanish, you'd probably be just fine. I used to go down there in the afternoon to hit balls and have never had any problems other than the occasional "hard look".

Last time I was in, though, I beat a guy out of a little cash and then he tells me he'll have to go to his car to get his wallet (I know, post before you play). I start to follow him out and I have a couple of bad looking characters standing in the door. The biggest one said, "I don't think you need to follow him out to the parking lot. He knows what he drives". Of course, the guy never came back and since the odds weren't all that good, I decided to just leave and call it another life's lesson.

Bill, I played at the 16th & Powell place 20 years ago -- it was "rough" even then. They had 3 old Brunswicks and no one wanted a game of 3C. However (!!!) they had a 12' snooker table in a side room and a big bucks golf game that ran all day. A few of the Tucson guys might remember it, esp 3-Dollar if he is still around.

Am I the only one that thought this was a spoof thread?

Ya know, cuz SJD and Mr. 3 Cushion hate each other.

Ron,
When I was a kid I thought, "When I'm an old fart, I'll be playing golf with the rest of 'em." Now that I am an old fart, nobody plays golf anymore. There's not a single snooker table in Tucson.

Azazello,

The guys who used to play at the Lucky Cue now play at Bull Shooters. Probably the best of that bunch is Francisco. He likes to play, so stop on by and pay him a visit.

Roger
