Joy Boy, you ain't no stinkin' amateur! You're a PRO! Stop taking advantage of all these beginners! I'm gonna have to spank you for being such a bad boy! :)

P.S. Good luck Sugarfoot!

Was there last night for a bit with Thorsten, Dominic (youth from Germany) and a girl from Texas (am horrible with names), there were plenty of players rolling in and Santos had been there for a bit too. Will be there tonight after work for the player's meeting and draw, will look for your patch and say "hey" if I see you JoeyA.

R U playing in the pro tournament?

Yes I will be playing both pro events, the straight pool should be a fiasco since I have had very minimal experience with that game but it should be eye-opening to say the least. Thorsten practiced with me a few times which was great but you can only soak up so much by watching in the short time we got together.

Either way I hope it's a great event for everyone and can't wait to see some people I haven't seen in a while plus make some new friends.

Thank you, I needed all of the luck in the world but I am not sure even then it would have helped. Won the 1st and 3rd but lost the 2nd and 4th matches, drew a guy I work with in the first round which was kind of fun. Lost to Shane Van Boening 113-125 in the 2nd round, pressured out at the end I made a good shot to get to a wide open table and froze like a deer in the headlights.

Then I played James Roberts who usually plays really badly against me for some reason, we both played pretty well though (for ball bangers) and had a good time like usual. Santos beat me the next match though, he played decently but said "man, I played bad".............thanks buddy that makes me feel great.

Overall it was a great experience and I think everyone was having a fun time with the game, it was awesome to see the masters like Mr. Barouty (sp?) and John Schmidt run their superior patterns. Can't wait to get out of the office at 5pm and shoot back over there for the 10-ball player's meeting tonight!!

Neil,
I'll probably see you over there today. I'm at the Comfort's Suites hotel because I did a google map and saw that it was .5 miles from Bankshot Billiards. Cab driver from the airport said there was no Comfort Suites Hotel on Beach Blvd and I countered with "I have the address right here, that I printed out from the Internet". :p He brought me anyway and stopped off at one on Jefferson Road. I got out and checked with the desk clerk and he said "that 11350 Beach Blvd. was a misprint. :p It's a little closer than the Hampton Inn and has to be at least as nice..

So I wound up staying here. It is a BEAUTIFUL and brand new hotel with great breakfast and very large, clean, comfortable rooms. I don't want to leave but need to hit a few balls before tonight.

I'll be meeting up with Stan & Landon Shuffett later on today and look forward to meeting you and the other AZBers.

Later,
JoeyA

Sounds good, glad things worked out for you hotel-wise. Can't wait to battle on the felt again, it's a good event and am enjoying the home court advantage.

Awesome, can't wait to hang out with you again Shane and see what kind of trouble we can get into!!

Anybody know what's up with the dress code for the amateur tournaments? I was there for the 8-Ball Open and half the field was wearing shorts. No problem with the dress code. Just wondering what was up with it.

It was great meeting you Joey, thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. Sorry we didn't do better at straight pool but we did have a good time considering I drew a guy that I see everyday at work. Nice to put a face and handshake to a screenname and posts!!
