3rd custom kilby carom cue, 16 points

Made to play the small games

54 inchs long
15.8 ounces in weight
11mm moori soft tips

Just a pleasure to shoot with something so light and so pretty

I love Thuya and this handle wood is just a diabolical and hellacious looking figure of Thuya

Satinwood forearm and butt
Purple heart points
Green and red veneer look incredible with the wood combo

4 big points 4 small up and down 16 points

The ring and cap material I was not hot on from first pics until I had it in hand and it really completes the cue so well for me

As long as I've been here, I believe I'm the only one showing off custom carom cues

I've got 2 others I've posted before if you haven't seen them, I think they were posted while you were on hiatus

I really do not know who builds carom cues in the states
Other than Ron Kilby
I've asked dieckman but hes told me he doesn't build anymore

Very nice, I see the strong taper there. I have a Longoni carom cue myself, as there used to be some carom tables around. Correct, Chop, we don't see enough carom cues around.

All the best,
WW

I for one am interested. I only have one carom cue. I am actively looking for another, but it really has to catch my eye.

I am surprised Diekman does not produce them. I am confident you can find various builders that will do it, or at least try. Finding one with extensive experience is more doubtful.

What about Schuler?

I am surprised that I don't see more here about the characteristics of cues for different games actually.

9 ball cue?
8 ball cue?
Straight pool cue?
One Pocket Cue?
Snooker cue?
Masse cue?
Jump cue?
Break cue?
Carom cue? And of course small game cues versus large game cues.
There are others.
And some are more versatile.

Some of these are obvious. Others less so and less discussed. I have my own ideas about some but see little discussion about it.

My Dayton cue seems to be a One Pocket Cue for instance, at least in my estimation.

I am glad to see yours here and hope to see more.

I will from now on use this cue for straight pool as previously stated I love the 16 ounce weight, I just switch to the 12mm shaft with the kamui clear medium tip

All 3 of my customs Ron has had finished in 2 months time
He's not only been building cues for a long time, but guitars for even longer, his knowledge of wood working is vast and extensive
And pretty fair prices to go with a ridiculous turn around time
