here are 4 great 8-ball players, for whatever reason are not playing in the i.p.t., but are so dangerous, jimmy reed, a great run out player, that has many 8-ball titles under his belt, amar kang, who is perhaps the strongest non-pro. jason "the bullet train" cane a lighting quick player, who excells at figuring out layouts. and my favorite player in the whole wide world to watch, this man, is so pure, so clean in his execution, it's enlighting~~~~ i give you, TONY DRAGO!!!! amazingly, fast, yet accurate, unlike luc salvas, who's fast and not as accurate.

Considering the strategical aspect to 8-ball, and knowing how Tony Drago hates to have to spend a long time over a shot, I doubt he'd be nearly as good at 8-ball as he is at 9-ball.
