40 years ago today….

Jennie, tell Keith to hang in there! Funny but true, when my eyes got as bad as 20/20 I thought I had went blind! Went to the eye doctor, he said a lot of people feel that way! Still don't need prescription lenses although I wear readers in front of the computer.

As you know TCOM made things crazy in the pool world. Everybody that could run three balls decided they were hustlers and even funnier, they all had to have an alias! Just for grins, somebody would give their name and I would say, "that wasn't the one you were using two weeks ago!" I was usually right.

Pool went from the old foggies' game to cool overnight. That movie made me a good living or the equal for three or four years.

My opinion, TCOM would have been better off standing on it's own rather than as a sequel. I believe it is the second best pool movie ever made but a distant second to The Hustler.

I truly don't know how the SAG checks work. I'm thinking they may be tied to when the movie airs on cable channels and/or DVD sales.

Before the days of iPhones, GPS, and Waze, we'd travel to pool tournaments, and I'd hand Keith the road atlas to tell me how far it was to the next town. He'd stare at it without saying a word, and I'd eventually have to pull over and read it myself. I thought maybe he couldn't read well, but it turned out he was experiencing the early stages of macular degeneration and simply couldn't see clearly. I'll never forget when the eye doctor told him he needed to see a specialist.

When Keith went in for his first eye injection, the doctor said he was "legally blind." Fortunately, after a few injections, his vision improved a tad. Now it's holding steady, not getting worse, but not getting better, either. His doctor has started him on a new medication, and he only needs injections every 10 weeks instead of every month. That's a plus!

Like me, he has prescription glasses for watching TV, glasses for the computer, and sunglasses. Getting old ain't for sissies!
Wow,
his eyes were going that long ago??
Glad to hear you've got them stabilized. I'm glad Keith is able to see better!!! I can't imagine anything worse than not being able to see clearly.🤦🏻‍♂️
I wish you both all the best.
