Nice!

The only thing that would concern me is the width of the pvc that deep changing the built in shape?

After using it like that stretching it out, where a regular cue would no longer be snug, idk?

Could always downsize the the pvc if so.

I would probably just invert the case and catch it w my hand. Less time back to table.

I happened into a case w break butt pocket, I thought that was genius as I had never seen it before at the time.

I did basically the same for my jump cue butt with a little change. I glued a cheap plastic joint protector inside the PVC tube and then screw the butt into it.

JB actually offers spacers for this purpose, used them once and they work nice. They go into a super thin fabric sleeve that you wrap over the top and into another slot so you can pull it out at any time.

The spacers are pvc. I had the configuration you mention in my old JB rugged case and the fabric sleeve eventually got pushed down into the case. I was always having to be careful not to let it slide down. It was a pain I thought. Eventually it got pushed all the way down by accident and I had to take the interior of the case out of the shell to get the pvc and sleeve out. You can't do that with this case as it is stitched around the top.
