Holy smokes those cues in "Jerry's finest work" pic are amazing! What are those? There Genuinely Isn't Any Choice But.............................Cortland Linen.
Balabushka and Cortland Linen #9 go together like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich.
Before settling on any white/green speck linen wrap, you should try to score CL #9.
It was George's favorite wrap and there is still some around but not for much longer.
Cortland Linen #9 is on three (3) of my customs & it's my all-time favorite cue wrap.
I actually have a Cortland Linen version that I've never seen before (brown speck).
My intention was to have another cue built but that's not an option any longer for me.

Absolute beauties! The cue design with the natural forearm and ivory rings is a copy of a design Tim Scruggs made.
I thought it was the nicest design Scruggs I’d seen and sent Jerry R. photos since he already was
making me the other cue. He said he wouldn’t make an exact copy but if I changed the veneers, he’d
make the cue so that’s the color scheme I gave him to use. Meanwhile, the cue already underway was
intended to be a fancy Bushka design and I couldn’t decide on the butt sleeve design. Jerry recalled
an Adams cue sleeve and suggested we use that. The forearm stain was done to match a Richard Black
Alamo cue design I liked and Jerry said he knew exactly what to do. The two cues turned out better than
I imagined and were built with the same specs so switching cues is pretty seamless. Jerry was a master.
Thanks for noticing them. Jerry Rauenzahn, IMO, has never received the recognitionAbsolute beauties!
Traditional would definitely be the linen. Just realized this is a four-year-old thread that has been revisited.Let's say you have a new custom cue being built in the traditional Balabushka style. The veneers will be black, orange, green, natural with mother of pearl inlays. I've always been a fan of the white with green speck linen wraps. Especially with that veneer color. I love the way the white with green wrap gets dirty over time and is a testament to the amount of hours spent playing with that cue.
What's your preference for a Bushka style cue? Smooth black leather or white with green speck linen?
