Does anyone posting (or lurking ;) ) here make joint protectors for the Acme screw that Bill Stroud used for a while? I have an '87 JW that could use some. Thanks! Scott
 
Have you tried a regular 5/16-14 thread protector?

I have an older JW and a regular protector fits as well as ones I had made using a 5/16-14 Acme tap.

Correct. The shaft protectors will screw in fine. But, the butt protector binds after about 3/4 turn. Do you have any leads Mike? Thanks.

I would like a set of ebony joint protectors. If you can help me out by making them, I can I contact you through your website. If you don't want to mess with a one off, I totally understand. Thanks. Scott

LOL, knew he had one in his stash :D He always has the good taps. :p Wish I had half the taps he probably has on hand :( :)

I'll see what I can do. As long as you don't want them sprayed.
