whats the difference in a 5/16-14 ans a 3/8-10 pin? does this affect the hit orr makes a more solid joint? also, i like my cue with the weight being a little forward balanced. how do i go about figuring out how to explain this to a cue maker? how do i know exactly where i like the balance point. should i take a 1 oz weight and tape it to dofferent spots on one of my cue and just move it around til i find whats right, and then give them the measurement such as " the balnce point is 12" from the joint." ? thank you for your help. once again, you ppl are a great asset to this forum. thanks, joey

This is a good idea, you can use some solder and just wrap it around the cue with some rubber bands or tape. This way you can actually play with the cue and see what you think.

Hi Joey, BALANCE POINTS!

Balance points on my cues are derterminded by "me", the cuemaker. I know what is best for the performance of my cues.
I have never had a customer complain about the balance point of my cues.

Any time you change the weight in a cue, your also changing the balance point. I don't use weight bolts, my cues are weighted and balanced with the woods being used.

All cues will play differantly when the balance point is moved or changed.
A good cuemaker, [who can also play, and the others who can't play, are just guessing at what to do], who has lots of experence at playing can place the balance point of his cue, so it will play it's best, no matter who's playing with it.

Maybe you should ask your cuemaker what he thinks about moving the balance point and how would it affect the playing of his cue? If he says it won't move the balance point, or change anything, sell it and call me, or another qualified "playing" cuemaker.
